Not sure how I feel about this. I hope RG3 can be the next Iron man like Manning and Farve honestly but he has aleady had a college season wiped out from an injury.

The knock on cousins was he doesn't protect the ball/ makes poor decisions at times. So he sounds like he could be Grossman 2.0. Certainly does have better arm though.

Seems like a nice idea though we could use the extra draft pick(s).

Limited touches, first preseason game, patchwork OL, I wouldn't worry too much.

Perish the thought! It is best not to tempt fate.

Anyway, I went with Crawford. He apparently has good coverage and ball skills and he could become our primary PR if Banks doesn't make the team. Also, the defensive backfield is an area where we could use some more help. So, for me, it all adds up to Crawford possibly having the most impact of all the rookies other than RGIII.

Whats the deal? I haven't been following as closely this year as I had in years past.

40 times are overrated.

A guy can play fast even with a lousy 40 time. Just ask Jerry Rice (4.71).

Yeah. I remember way back in the days when John Madden and Pat Summerall did Redskin games and Madden would always compliment Gary Clark, saying he's a 4.4 guy but Clark told him repeatedly that he was truly a 4.9 guy. But as a 4.9 guy or maybe slightly slower, look at the marvelous career Gary Clark had when he was a Redskin.

Forty times are indeed overrated.

I'm liking gettis' versatility. he's got size issues but he's an all world human being when it comes to work ethic.

Somewhat related- Does anyone have a link - or a write up of historical redskins trades?
I'd be interested in seeing what we've done over the years.
thanks.

Liked what I saw in Cousins but he will not play this year hopefully.

REALLY liked what I saw in Crawford. Pretty sure he is on the team.

Boy, I wish Banks would make it easier to cut him.

after preseason game 2, it is apparant our DBs mostly suck....it is quite possible that Crawford may end up starting as a nickel after a month or so...he is a playmaker. It is easy to pick a RB or oline, but this kid could make our entire secondary better, I'd love to see him against starters.

Crawford makes you forget about Minnifield's disappointing IR fate. But he can certainly play. But Alfred Morris has been impressive too.

I voted for Cousins. With him we just might be able to dump Grossman after this season. I know that conventional wisdom would be to keep the veteran, but Rex just sucks. I am hoping we can blow a couple teams out and Shanny can put Cousins out there to give him real playing time in a game that counts.

I really believe that for the moment we need to keep Rex until the other guys can take over the 2nd spot.........BUT in the first pre-season game when Rex relieved Robert, it looked like we brought in a...one legged QB....
...No offense intended to any one legged QB's on the WP.

Monty is decent statistically but (re)watching film on the guy makes me wonder how he's still employed in the NFL. He gets slapped around more than Rhianna. I think Ssmack could be right about Monty getting benched if another guy can takeover the signal calling at center, because Lord knows the new guy will be a better blocker.
