He'd be my pick in 2 seconds. Just imagine having a LB that can actually cover TE's.

But we absolutely cannot go into the season with Phil Taylor as the NT, it’s not an option and someone should be fired if that’s the case

Ward may be somewhere between thrilled and happy for me. I'd be over the moon about the first 4, and over the moon if we trade down. Very happy with Ward, and happy with Vea or Payne.

I'll be pissed if it's Guice at 13. Really pissed.
Pretty much agree except on Edmunds. I don't see it with him at all. And Payne. No thanks.

Trade down and Guice agree 100%.

To me he's the 2nd best player overall in the draft behind Nelson.. Have watched tape on both and they are both Elite talent. Chubb is right behind at 3.

And as sure a tackler as there is.

My thing with Smith is he has the speed, playmaking ability and can cover a TE. He just looks like a potentially great player that doesn't come off the field. Plus he is a pure tackler. We just haven't had many guys like that on our defense. I just don't think Smith will be there at 13.

If the safeties are gone and Rosen is there at 10, trade up with Oakland to grab him.

We aren't trading up for anybody the best bet is a trade down but if we can't find a partner to trade down with then we'll make a pick at 13.

This would fall under the "nightmare scenario" for me. I'm not a big Rosen guy to begin with, and we don't need him at 13 let alone trading up.

I can’t stress this enough, NT/DT is a major fucking need. It’s pathetic...

2.7 yards per rush last year when Jonathan Allen and Matt ionitas were healthy. We definitely need to upgrade at DT, but we made upgrades last year - we were just decimated by injuries so we didn’t get to see the improvement over the course of the entire year that we should have seen. This draft is also supposedly fairly deep at NT. It’s not imperative to reach for Vea or Payne when there should be a far superior player like Fitzpatrick, smith, James or Edmunds still on the board.

Would love him or edmunds. If one of them fell to us, it would be hard to even consider offers to Trade down.

Yet im seemingly the only one on this board who would consider Vea anything more than a consolation prize at 13.

I don’t have any problem with taking him if Fitzpatrick, James, Edmunds, and Smith are gone by then, which certainly could happen.

The same could be said for anyone of the players drafted tonight as far as the pros being a tougher ballgame. He will get even stronger and he will get better hopefully in the pass rush department. Just do not underestimate the value that a huge agile piece of meat like Vea brings to the rest of our front 7 as far as them being freed up to get to the quarterback. Also for that matter how that helps the secondary.

We shouldn’t reach, but an entire offseason and NOT get NT again is completely and utterly incompetentence by the front office. It’s not a coincidence that we haven’t had a viable NT these 3 years and have averaged 4.5 ypc against, worst inthe league. I really really wished we have gotten Hankins.
