Agree totally. Right now we don’t have ANYTHING at TE.

Get a cheap WR#2 FA to compete with Harmon. Plus Kyle Smith has really done an amazing job of getting talented WR from the draft and the depths of the UDFA. He’s done it two years in a row at that position. One of my biggest disappointments was how Trey Quinn had a totally busted season. Getting two hot starters like MacLaurin and Steve Sims in one offseason is great - especially when you look at the sorry history of WR busts the Redskins have had in the last 20 years. I can’t remember all the high draft picks like Doctson that went nowhere. I hope Kyle can keep it going. Getting a rookie starter at WR #2 would really set up Haskins as well as the best TE on the FA market.

I don't know if this is legit but Jeff Howe from the Athletic is reporting that Ravens might be looking to trade Hayden Hurst. I wouldn't mind if Redskins give up late round pick for Hurst - Hurst was drafted in first round although the fact that Hurst couldn't beat Mark Andrews is something we need to consider but at this point, Hurst is better than any TEs we have on our roster.

If Redskins manage to sign Henry and trade for Hurst, I would be really happy. I'm not sure how this would work out with the salary part though.

Get Hayden Hurst NOW! How many TE's would not play behind Mark Andrews? Hurst is a very talented TE who has everything you would want at the position.

Ive seen this...you have to wonder why in a scheme that features TE why he couldn't excel? I wouldn't give much... his cap hit is 3.2 this and next year? Couldn't you take that put it towards a proven asset?

I woudnt mind it, but he seems like a bust and might be cut.

Re: Offseason Roster Moves Thread

I liked Hayden Hurst coming out of college but reports are the Pats are talking w the Ravens. Mock has us taking TE Thaddeus Moss (LSU) 66th overall (3R)

2 years of control for a 27 year old TE Hurst

or

4 years of control, 22 year old (when season starts) TE Moss

https://www.draftsite.com/nfl/washington/43/

I dont think id give up the 66th overall pick for Hurst.

That's a curious mock draft for the Redskins, IMO. No DBs or WRs. And WR is reportedly very deep and strong in this draft. 2 DTs? Hey, I'm generally a BPA guy, but I'd like to see more of our holes filled, if possible. I like the first 2 picks in this mock, though.

Yeah I can't see us taking 2 DT's in late rounds regardless of BPA. I think we would be better focused on DB's then. Maybe a WR, but I have a lot of hope for the young guys we have on the team. They each displayed some good things and without Gruden's love of his guys philosophy I think they will all develop together very well.

Re: Offseason Roster Moves Thread

The Redskins are talking to a lot of TE and WR at the combine. This is not some crazy misdirection idea of the past. This shows exactly where their draft pick is going to go with the top picks AFTER Chase Young. I’d say the third round #66 pick will be for a WR #2. A crazy idea is Hill, another Ohio State WR is being looked at. He OUTPERFORMED MacLaurin when they played together. Interesting.

I see the top picks in rounds 3-5 going to TE/WR. The #66 pick will go to either position depending on how FA goes. Obviously if the Redskins can’t get the top TE FA, then they.’ll draft for the best TE they can get.

Can you list who they are talking too? I agree, with the depth of WR, the Skins should get a nice choice at top of 3rd round of whoever slides.

I think the TE is ok...we should be able to grab someone in the 4th.

Hurst sounds like a big risk.

Hurst is pretty well rounded and he is fast. I would take him if available.

Suicide, drinking himself to death ... guy has faced some demons but I dont think any of that is in play now or has been for a while. havent heard anything off field negative about him.

Its in the article and theres more in depth articles out there, commending him for speaking out when it could be viewed as a red flag for his NFL career

maybe a clue to why he has underperformed and in danger of being cut. I mean, its a red flag for being traded and or cut as a first round pick b4 first contract is up.
