They have a lot of preseason hype, and lost a lot of one score games last year. New coach has "mastermind" label. Seemed to prove it against us for sure.

No he isn't. If he was then he would have done what Bosa did yesterday. He just isn't as good, at least not yet.

Basically the last two games that I have seen Young he has been a total non factor.

It's probably actually a blessing in disguise that Fitzpatrick went down. I never wanted him here in the first place. There were better options out there if you weren't going to draft a QB, or roll with Taylor.

Let's see if they can bounce back on Thursday before drawing too many conclusions about how the season will end up.

Agree about Taylor but this team isn’t winning more than 8 games regardless of Thursday. That is where my money would go if i had to bet at least

I still believe our team is nowhere near good enough to compete with the upper tier teams of the NFL. Doesn't mean it can't happen this season though, it just means it might take a few weeks for this team to start firing on all cylinders.
Agree time will tell.

How frustrating does it have to be for synder? i realize he makes money off this crap but man year in and year out just shit bomb after shit bomb.

Even just the Fitzmagic injury yesterday; its so just unbelievable bad this whole franchise.

I’d call up the Texans soon with Chase and a couple no 1 drafts picks ready ready to go

I wouldn't either way, but no matter what you have to wait for the cases to work themselves out.

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread

Washington Football Team QB Ryan Fitzpatrick did suffer a hip subluxation, the MRI confirmed. He’ll be placed on Injured Reserve, source said, but no indication yet that it’s season ending.

Chase Young is amazing bait for any trade that bring us a franchise QB or a few pro bowl quality players that we could fill holes with.

I am not sure Chase Young himself can save this franchise. ITs equal to having a golden heated toilet in your bathroom but your septic system is all jacked up in your back yard. Might want sell that toilet get a normal one and use the profits to fix the septic system out back.

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread

Good:

Run game - 126 run yards, 27 carries, 4.7 ypr. Interior run game looked pretty good. Seems like they got good initial push, made some holes, held the blocks and Gibson looked assertive.

Red Zone D - held Chargers to 2/6

Run D - held them to 90 yards, 26 carries for 3.1 ypr

Gibson - I thought he stepped his game up. Made guys miss, run through some arm tackles, able to go north south maximizing his yards. Smart runner. The fumble was killer and perhaps the biggest MO changer of the game.

Deandre Carter - 3 KO returns for 65 yards, 2 punt returns for 22. He will help in field position battle.

Bobby McCain - looked like a legit player, flashed, nice find by the FO. This guy can contribute.

Terry/Logan - Terry caught all 4 of his targets, Thomas caught all 3 of his targets

Tress Way - solid, 2 inside the 20

Cheeseman - didnt hear his name called = good job rookie

Bad:

7 of Chargers 9 possession got into the RZ - heard this on radio

334 passing yards allowed - Del Rio got outcoached, especially in the first half and the chargers last possession of 15 plays, 72 yards to run the last 6:43 mins of clock time.

------------------

My biggest problem is that the Chargers did what all the teams did to us in the second half of last year. They would move guys around in motion, isolate a good matchup and then just exploit our LBs or our corners play soft.

5:29 left in a 20-16 game, we had them on a 3rd and 16 at their own 12 yard line. Inexplicably Del Rio goes 4 down lineman, 3 LBS ... you put fucking Jon fucking Bostic to drop back into soft zone coverage against Keenan fucking Allen?

you dumb fuck Del Rio .. the chargers OC was getting matchups and targeting your LBs in coverage all fucking day .. with the game on line with your opponent at 3rd and fucking 16 at their own fucking 11 yard line ...

you put the fucking game in Jon Bostics hands to trust him to cover an acre of open fucking field against Keenan Allen and Justin Herbert.

https://www.nfl.com/games/chargers-a...eam-2021-reg-1

go to the 3:30 mark for the 3rd and 16

Dont we have a ton of hybrid safeties for THIS VERY FUCKING MOMENT?

Should have had collins, curl, maccain, everett, fuller, jackson, st juste plus the front 4 ... instead you put Holcomb and Jon fucking Bostic out there?

Fuck you Del Rio.

The minute they do, making a move for Tugs Watson would be the thing to do. If not CY, then anyone else

I'm in no way giving up on the season. My criticisms are solely based on what we saw yesterday. It's a long season and there are always ups and downs.
