Re: Commanders free agency thread

Swing tackle probably the most important reserve player on your roster aside from QB2.

Productive depth D-line during his stint in Carolina. Big - 6'6. Also, Commanthers.

Know nothing about him but interesting backstory. Turning 30 in a few weeks, no college ball, at 6'6" and 265 I dont think he can play the interior.

--------------

Efe Obada has earned the trust of the Buffalo Bills’ coaching staff.

That was evident by the snap counts during the team’s 33-21 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Obada played 36 of the Bills’ 64 defensive snaps in the win. That was 59% of the defensive total, behind only defensive tackle Ed Oliver (43 snaps, 67%) in playing time along the defensive line.

^^ This is after their Dec 27, 2021 game vs Pats so its pretty deep into the season.

Stats say he started 1 game last year w the Bills, I guess they HEAVILY rotate the front 4 .. which seems to becoming the cool new thing to do. DL by committee.

Id guess he competes with the plethora of DE guys we have.

At 6'6" and 265 im sure he will get moved in some if he makes the roster but a tall and not stout body wont do well in the trenches on run plays.

Definitely not an interior guy, he's a DE. We have James Smith Williams but you have to run 4 deep at that position, especially with Chase coming back from an ACL.

Doubt this is for more than $1.0M or so. $2.0M at absolute max. Depth signing only. Probably competes with Shaka Toney and William Bradley King. Probably beats them both because they didn't add much for us. Competition.

Looks like the rich are getting richer:

@RapSheet
The #Rams are loading up again? Sources say six-time All-Pro LB Bobby Wagner is visiting them and there is mutual interest in doing a deal. A potential huge defensive addition.

Shows what we know, in Buffalo Obada was moved down to DT in a lot of obvious pass rushing situations. Did some damage from there too. Good looking player.

Anyone else get the feeling that the Ram's Salary Cap looks like Abe Lincoln's hat, while the rest of the NFL's cap looks like Eric Cartman's?

How the fuck do they keep signing the best in the NFL?

Traded Robert Woods, resigned Stafford to new 5 year contract, didn't resign Von Miller, Whitworth retired

Re: Commanders free agency thread

obada had 3.5 sacks last year and 5.5 the year before, both with playing ~35% of snaps. bunch of hurries etc too, good signing and it's good he could sub multiple positions.

last year he had a 1.48m 1 year deal w/ the bills, haven't seen any reports on his deal w/ washington yet.

Agreed, if this deal is anywhere near what the Bills gave him, I like it.

Still need at least 1 more true DL since we lost Settle and Ioannidis.

Important part of the equation, when you sign your own guys back they don't count against you in the compensatory pick formula.

That's the biggest argument against spending a lot at MLB, making sure we don't cancel out the 3rd round pick we have coming our way for Scherff.
