Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp

Smith has been around a lot longer and worked with Norv in SF, so it's natural that he would be ahead in terms of the playbook. Not a big deal.

It is. Delanie Walker is still a FA. When able to stay healthy, he's solid and we should bring him in for a look. Has to be better than what we have now.

I wouldn't worry about his age, TEs seem to play a long time...see Antonio Gates, Vernon Davis, Witten, many others.

Yep I'd forgotten that part. Thanks for putting out the fire before it started.

Dang .. he was one injury away to RA for a starting role. I wonder if he has any medical issues making him high risk.

He's a high risk opt out -- asthma. And his kids also have asthma. So hard to blame him for doing this.

Completely agree. It's a shame -- I like his speed at that position.

Agreed. Fortunately, he was just a depth player.

Brandon Scherff says he wants to finish his career in Washington

Granted it's no guarantee, but it still gives me some hope, I had absolutely zero he was going to stay when he was tagged.
He could've just gone "Will see what happens, I'm focusing on the upcoming season" or whatever, couldn't he ?

Kendall Fuller says the goal is to have the best defense in the league

Effin hell, couldn't these guys stop overpromising for once ? How hard it is to do it BEFORE talking about it ?!

I love the fact that Scherff is learning from Kerrigan about maintaining his body. I won't be surprised if we end up giving Scherff top 3 guard money next year.

Looking at the link it is difficult to tell, often it is a case of the reporter asking a leading question like "What is you goal for this year" .... anything other than having a goal of winning the Superbowl or having the No1 unit in the NFL is criticised rightly , but the reporters tend to turn the answer around to say Player X is confident they will win the Superbowl this year.

Of course the goal for every player at the start of the season is to be on the No1 unit in the NFL and to win the Superbowl, it is not like he guaranteed it.

I wouldn’t hate it...but needs to play like it. In the running game, he is there. Pass protection and penalties...he needs to clean that up.

Yeah he definitely needs to do a better job although, I'm guessing some of the issues he had were because of the Oline issues. According to PFF, he allowed only one sack last year but he had penalty issues.. Also, Moses certainly didn't help much.

I think he can anchor the Oline this year and hopefully step into Trent leadership role at the same time.
