Re: Offence and Alex Smith
Most are saying he will def miss up to a full year, so we are looking at midway through 2019, I don't see why we won't go after a new starter next season.

Re: Offence and Alex Smith
You have to draft someone, no if’s or but’s.

@RapSheet
Alex Smith had surgery last night on his broken tibia and fibula, an injury not considered career-threatening. The team moves forward with Colt McCoy on a short week. |

Re: Offence and Alex Smith
Great news! I really hope he will be able to train with the team before the upcoming season starts.

DJ Swearinger: "Hopefully Colt can take care of the ball and take some of those shots downfield that we've been needing. We've got big receivers. Why not throw the ball downfield and give those guys a chance?"

Re: Offence and Alex Smith
D.J. needs to learn to keep his mouth shut sometimes. That is out of line. Not the time for hidden digs at Alex.

Re: Offence and Alex Smith
Redskins signed QB Mark Sanchez.
The NFL's "meritocracy" spins on. When last we heard of 32-year-old Sanchez, he was being slapped with a four-game PED ban in April. Now he will serve as Colt McCoy's backup in Washington. Sanchez has attempted just 109 passes since the end of the 2014 seasons. Dan & Bruce again |

From Keim: "A few ties with Sanchez in NY (there from 2009-13): Redskins OC Matt Cavanaugh was the Jets QB coach from 2009-12; Redskins OL coach Bill Callahan was asst HC and OL coach with Jets 08-11; QB coach Kevin O'Connell a teammate parts of 09-11." Most coaches want to go with guys they know. Sorry but this is not Dan or Bruce making this call.

Re: Offence and Alex Smith
I honestly doubt that Dan or Bruce are even involved in anything regarding a deal for a backup QB.

Re: Offence and Alex Smith
As much as I can’t stand him, I would have called Jay Cutler and asked if he was available.
