Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

We could use Wentz in a draft package to try to get Watson or move up in draft. Who knows.

this is the type of shit player this is only willing to come here.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

The Colts have agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders (Twitter link via Adam Schefter of ESPN.com). Details of the deal are still emerging, but the package of packs is believed to “include two third-round picks.”

The Commanders were previously linked to Wilson and said to have interest in 49ers signal caller Jimmy Garoppolo. Ultimately, they didn’t want to wait on the Niners, choosing instead to pivot to Wentz. The 29-year-old (30 in December) may be a consolation prize, but he’s still a strong pickup Ron Rivera & Co. They’ll have Wentz under contract at a $22MM salary this year with a $6.294MM roster bonus. After that, they’ve got him for two more seasons. In 2023, he’s due $20MM in salary with a $6.176MM roster bonus. In 2024, that salary increases to $21MM with a $6.235MM bonus payout.

So basically we saved Indy from themselves and gave them draft pics to do so, awesome, super awesome.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

Interesting take from JP:

@JPFinlayNBCS
Wentz threw for 3500 yards on 63 percent passing last year, 27 TDs vs just 7 INTs. Stats look good. But my biggest concern is Indy just traded for him, and now they trade him without a clear upgrade. Something doesnt add up

While he flashed the occasional brilliant throw down the stretch, more often than not, he was inaccurate, showed a lack of pocket poise, and was turnover prone—often holding the football for far too entirely long. He needs to start playing with confidence/decisiveness again, regain his lost mechanics and erase acquired bad habits, and start checking down to his underneath routes (*hitting his crossing routes consistently also wouldn’t hurt*).

I read a good article a few months ago re Colts coaching staff being fed up with Wentz. That the game plan was for him to make quicker decisions, taking what the D gave him, utilize the run and he did do that in the middle part of the season and the staff was relieved but then he started going back to bad habits of holding the ball

----

Our entire offensive strategy is crossing routes and designed check downs.

Guess we get to see if that is Turner's philosophy or just the way he had to call games given the QB limitations.

I believe he is also a horrible locker room guy

I will now go to my phone and see the one million text of friends and families making fun of me for being a Commanders fan.
