Sweat traded to the Bears, Young to the 49ers
Trade: Commanders and Bears have agreed to a trade that is expected to send DE Montez Sweat to the Chicago for a 2024 second-round pick, per sources. Sweat is in the last year of his contract, and the Commanders are opting for a draft pick now. Chicago beefs up its line.

Chase Young might be a rental for San Fran. Not to mention, I sense with more money freeing up for us; we'll be active in free agency. Hopefully, ownership/ management/coaching staff play things smartly. If they do, then we'll be fine. Ownership is getting a jump on things and using foresight as the current coaching staff is finito and likely Mayhew. |

Re: Sweat to the bears for a 2nd rounder
In reality is high second rounder, Chicago won’t be winning many games vs what Seahawks will.

If the season ended today, it would be the 35th overall pick.

Re: Sweat to the bears for a 2nd rounder
We got him with the 26th. Then 4 and 1/2 years of work and turned into a high second round. That is a solid ROI.

Re: Sweat to the bears for a 2nd rounder
Bears 2nd rounder is definitely more valuable than the Seahawks 2nd rounder

Re: Sweat to the bears for a 2nd rounder
I agree...decent value. If you were not going to try and sign both he and Young, get what you can for him and 2nd is probably the best they could do so at least they got something in return.
