I never understood why Rivera drafted a long snapper in the first place....this is a reflection on Ron Rivera and not the player.....

Re: Cameron Cheeseman waived

Most teams carry a long snapper on the roster as a dedicated position. Drafting a good one isn't exactly a dumb decision if you can afford the draft pick and the guy is that good. Cheeseman was that good last season. This season not so much. There was something coming out of camp that he'd changed his technique, which was a worry (if it ain't broke). Why allow him to mess with what was working? Why leave it until he really f'd up to do something. Ron aye?

I wonder if it was the coaches that asked him to change his technique but it completely screwed him up when he tried to back to the old technique. As you say, why change the technique (unless they asked him to).

Thanks again Ron. You piss poor excuse for a HC, GM, or shelf stocker at Jiffy Lube.

Nope, reports suggested he changed it himself, nothing to do with coaching. Begs the question why someone would mess up their chance at a long pro career by screwing with the fundamentals. Nick Sundberg was here 10 years; probably should have had a word with the kid.

Cameron Cheeseman waived

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, “cut the cheese.” He nearly got Tress Way, arguably our best player this season, filleted.

I read in WaPo that the Commanders traded up in order to draft him. Leave it to Ron to trade up for a long snapper.

It only looks bad because Cheeseman has been terrible this year. But if he was our next Sundberg nobody would question the move.

I don't have an issue with Ron using a late round draft pick on a player they like, but when that long snapper literally has one job and he is terrible at it it reflects poorly on us.

Re: Cameron Cheeseman waived

Thing was he was good last season. It's this season he's had issues. He's only a bad draft pick in hindsight.

Re: Cameron Cheeseman waived

From all accounts he sounds like a good dude, a real standup guy. Snapping is like a golf swing, once you get in a rut it's hard to get out. Hopefully he gets right and can resume his career. Still, Ron should have seen this coming, we all knew very early on in the season this was an issue and he let it go on way too long. Fuckin Ron.
