No, but that was just bad faith by the ref to give him approval and throw the flag.

I have never seen that and it’s completely away from the play. Like seriously wtf?

I realise it is probably a niaive question, please excuse my ignorance, but does Terry M not know where he is supposed to line up without reference to the official? I never see any other receivers checking with the official and they aren't getting called for offsides. I realise Terry is trying to make sure but it seems odd that he was relying on the official rather than just looking left and knowing. It was a garbage move by the official without doubt, but surely Terry doesn't rely on them that much. I guess he has learnt his lesson and now knows not to trust the line judge.

Receivers often check with refs to see if they are "on." "On" meaning on the line of scrimmage, so as not to have too many players lined up in the backfield.

It is very common for the WR's to check with the ref on the sideline. It's not always easy to break the huddle and run out there and try to lineup exact on the LOS. They have to run like 20 yards after they break the huddle to get out there.

Ok, thanks for the feedback, having never played the game it is sometimes difficult to understand the reasoning for some of these things. Appreciate the education as always

missed PI was sadness. Perspective though, even with that, probably do get in from 1st and goal at the 1, but then ~50% 2pt and then OT, which is another coin flip.

I wish they had taken my advice to play slightly better, it seemed so simple :P

The league is rigged because of the refs.....John Madden once said the officials make mistakes but most of the time they are right......I don't think that's true anymore.
