Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Yet another typical couple days of being a Washington fan:
Saturday - Bezos not allowed to bid on Commanders Monday - Washington Post: Dan Snyder and his attorneys demand that fellow NFL franchise owners/league "indemnify him against future legal liability and costs if he sells the team." Tuesday early AM - Franchise tag placed on Daron Payne Tuesday morning - ESPN: Disputed $55M loan at center of probe into Commanders Credit to Ben Standig Is it any wonder why the DC fan base has mostly left? I was sick of this shit 15 years ago…we still dealing with it

That's what he's said from the start.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I disagree. As a big fan of anointing people, I think Howell should be next in line. Did you see that dub against the Cowboys? Christ on a cracker what a performance. It wasn't even close! Who was the last Manders starter to beat the Cowboys by 3 scores? Crown his ass Ron.

QB1 and starter aren't the same?

This is a nothing-burger and it is just coach-speak.

Not surprised, Ron has to win asap and SH has played 1 game. I wonder who they will bring in to compete

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
It would be dereliction to say he's the starter. He's QB1 right now because he's the only QB. He will have one - maybe two other QBs to compete with, and he will have to win that competition to be named the starter.
Most of us hope he does because if he doesn't, then we are likely right back where we started. |

Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Not really. QB -1 in February, before free agency, the draft, and camp even begin is nothing more than a designation. Week one starter wont be named until August. It is Sams job to lose, but he could lose it. Still an advantage for Sam. Would have to really be outplayed to lose the job. If Richardson looks good throwing the ball at the combine alot of eyes are going to be on him, including our staff. Im rooting for Sam because of what Chief alluded to. It is just a pick we can use elsewhere if he balls out but I want the best possible quarterback out there week 1 and if Richardson looks great during all this hoopla and is there at 16 decisions would have to be made. Nothing wrong with having two good young quarterbacks on board. |

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
We now have over 27% of the cap going to the D line. It will be over 30 if they exercise Young's 5th year option.
