Rebuild my ass!! All we needed was 2 OT, MLB and better coaching. To give away two of the best DE’s is fucking stupid.

You knew this was going to happen if the current regime wasn't successful. I don't understand how you expect things to be the same with new ownership and later on a new front office/coaching staff.

Be ready to say bye to Howell as well, since this to me smells like loading on picks to go up for a QB move.

This team has never, ever, ever, done a clean out like this before. But this needs to happen.

This is why I was rooting for this front office/coaching staff to succeed, but alas, they f*cked it up.

If Howell stays on his his current pace then he's not going anywhere. There's numerous games remaining this season, so he could potentially tail off. As long as he continues to show he can lead this team with better coaching, then he'll stay out.

I could have seen trading one but not both. If they plan on moving for one of the top QB’s they are going to have to drop some of their newly acquired picks to move up.

Great trade. I'm happy with it. Better than a conditional 3rd rounder. I think we fleeced the Bears in this trade.

There's still a lot of football left this season to see whether Howell is a long term answer.

But I find it hard to see a situation where the team keeps losing and everyone is fired, but somehow a new coaching staff/front office regime is going to bet on Howell?

I'm not saying he's going to be cut or anything like that, but so far my early overreaction is that the ownership is setting up the next front office with enough pick to trade up for a QB.

I hope not because they'll need all the picks they can get with FA to fill the damn holes on this Swiss cheese roster 😅😅😅

Second and third rounders aren't gonna get you a top quarterback. That will take multiple first rounders for years.

And as they give away picks for possibly a new QB, then there’s less draft picks to fill the holes and paying for FA is not the way to go.

No but if you are trading a 2024 and 2025 first round, along with that extra 2nd and 3rd picks, that gives you ammo for a trade package and still allows you to draft in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Also, this would depend on what our record looks like at the end of the season.

Mock drafts just got even more fun. I can draft 9 offensive lineman now.

Re: Sweat to the Bears for a 2nd rounder

I like getting rid of CY, but hate that he went to SF where the talent around him will let him take his plays off and still look good especially only getting a late 3rd from them;

I hate getting rid of Sweat and that he is going to a place like Chicago, but I like the trade value and hope the new era starts next season.

Overall I think Toohill showed enough to make a stout line with Allen/Payne. And the picks do give more room to improve our OL/LB corps

RR is being marginalised? Ownership making the decisions? If this is correct, I can't see the point keeping Ron, as he's going to lose the locker room if he hasn't already.

Sweat’s trade was too good to pass up. Gonna be top half of second round.

5 picks in the first 3 rounds is a great starting point for a rebuild
