The broadcasters were mildly critical of him during that play. Should have been for more honestly. You don't commit 3 errors in a WS game inning and expect to win. The errors by Judge and Cole were really bad in this game.

He covers 1st base, it's 5-0, the errors don't matter. And errors at least involve trying. He just chose to not bother. Then after he doesn't. He gives up 4 more runs to tie it. He's going to be a villain for life in NYC.

It was a massive brain fart on his part. However, it would have been far easier to get out of this hole even with his mistake had the errors prior not occurred as the bases were loaded. Get your point though, but it's all for not now. Dodgers were the better team despite this horrendous Yankee inning.

Epic collapse, not that the Yanks were going to pull off 4 straight but a win last night would have made things interesting

I also doubt they would have won 2 straight in LA, but myself and the MLB world would have loved to see it. Their choking in the 5th inning was terrible and shocking. They should have won that game last night.

Weird that some people are blaming Rizzo. Rizzo was expecting Cole to be there, and he should have been 110%. Can’t just leave your guy hung out to dry. Fucking hustle.

Re: 2024 MLB Thread

That play by Cole was abysmal but credit to Betts for recognizing what was happening and hustling down the line instead of half-assing it like a lot of players would.

Overall the series wasn't great. Kind of average as far as series go with the exception of game 1 and Fat Joe's performance.

I can't believe it was only a one game ban

Exactly. I remember being taught this as a pitcher at a very young age. Inexplicable that Cole did not get over there.

Re: 2024 MLB Thread

As a Red Sox fan I really enjoyed seeing them implode in that 5th inning and giving the game they should have won to the Dodgers. I didn't want a Game 6, bury the A-holes was my thought and I'm glad it happened in an embarrassing way.

It was one of the most embarassing innings I've even seen in a WS game, even a playoff game. Dodgers were the better team. Justice served. Freeman went on a tear. Will never forget his grand slam to win game 1.

O's hand QO to Santander and Burnes. Would love to see Burnes back but I think he will be in pinstripes. Santander great story but hope he declines the QO.

My question: are the Yankees gonna resign Soto?

Great question. Not sure but likely. Could see it also being the Mets or Astros also. He can pretty much name his price at this point. Would be pretty devastating to the Yanks if they did not sign him.
