Doubtful he would clear waivers.

Agreed, but I see all that as bad coaching. Admittedly you expect a S prospect out of college to be coached up in the basics of tackling and reading the field, but I see a guy who's fired up to go and make plays with his speed and ability to hit and hasn't been coached to bring technique and brains to the party and measure his play to what the opposition is doing.

i.e. Where he's out of position on that TD run, he should be coached up to read the OL at the snap, and check his movement so he doesn't get out of position. It looks like C1 Robber, so he has no need to drift across with the motion as the SS is dropping into the hole and will pick up the motion man if he turns upfield. He therefore has deep midfield coverage and run fit responsibility to his side. But he keeps moving even though there's no likely deep middle threat at the snap and that puts him out of position. With both guards firing out his first read there should be run, so plant and come downfield to the LOS and find the RB. Once he's out of position its too late.

Now if he sat down with the WFT coaches and they asked him what he did wrong there, if he said something along those lines, I'd say he's eminently coachable and his raw talent means he has real potential. If he can't see and correct those behaviours then he won't last long. Right now he still looks better than Apke!

I'm with you that at least part of it is on coaching... But consistent tackling is part technique part instinct IMO. I want DBs that love wrapping people's ankles crocodile roll style.

Out of position is another deal, way more coachable IMO.

Re: Post draft breakdown

Listened to several post first practice interviews with the new draft class. While most of the questions/answers are fairly generic, but I was still impressed with the quality of answers, thoughtful and clearly expressed. If you want to watch a fun interview, watch Sammis Reyes interview.

Dyami Brown

Could be the steal of the draft. I know it’s early but I think we could have knocked it out the park again with 3rd round WR.

Watching him come out of breaks and his hands snatch it out the air…he never waits for the ball to get there, he goes and gets it.

Of course, the video in the Twitter feed go to 14 seconds

He's a stud. What a steal. Gladly would have taken Brown in the 2nd round.

Who is the QB wearing #1? He looks good.

Apparently Jordan Ta'amu, the guy who once beat out Taylor Heinicke for a job.

WFT brings in XFL QB Heinicke backed up for rookie minicamp
