Coles Senario
We have a few teams intrested in trading for Coles which would be the best in your opinion for the Skins
Senarios 1. Skins trade Coles to Jets for Satana Moss 2. Skins trade Coles to Ravens for their first rounder 3. Skins trade Coles to 49ers for their 2nd round and Andre Carter, or some other player. 4. other senario explain and discuss

Re: Coles Senario
looks like the Jets deal is about done now.
Where are you getting these scenarios? I never knew B-More was willing to give up their 1st rounder for Coles? |

Re: Coles Senario
Or we could just release his ass, save 5 million and cut our loss. Cap hit of 9 million for one player who isn’t there or doesn’t want to be there is unreasonable.

Oh ok. I don't know if the Ravens will really do that. Like I said I think the Skins/Jets deal is done. At least we're getting a good WR in return, whereas if we release him.....we don't get $hit. |

Re: Coles Senario
There's only one likely scenario worth discussing right now

We seem to think just like our team as a whole in undervalueing the talent of our players. Pierce said that the skins spend alot of money on outside talent to get them here but we don't want to pay who we have what they're worth. We have great players and every year I see one of our players go somewhere else and do well. Either getting to the playoffs (bailey) or the superbowl (Trotter, Davis). Coles is a top ten reciever and the Ravens desperatly need a #1, so I think that they would go through with it. They have the #22 pick and thee teams look to be getting the four top Wr in the draft before them (Skins, dallas, Chicago, vikes) so why not?

Re: Coles Senario
It does seem pointless to discuss other scenarios at this point since this trade seems done pending cap space, but if those other offers were on the table i think the skins will be taking the worst of those 3 deals.

Re: Coles Senario
Those other scenarios are pure speculation and I highly doubt there is much truth to them. A player and a high pick for Coles? Please.

Re: Coles Senario
I don't really think the Jets deal seems done at all. That report kind of glosses over it, saying that really the only thing that stands in the way is that pesky salary cap issue. But what is important to remember is that we would A) have to get Samuels to complete his restructuring and B) have to get Coles to agree to pay back that bonus. Otherwise the deal just isn't feasible in any way shape or form. If both of those things happen, then I would go out and say that it is probably a done deal, but Coles said he wouldn't pay his bonus back unless we release him. And why would he do us any favors so we could send him to the Jets, a team with the only offense more conservative than ours last year IMO and with a QB who quite possibly can no longer throw the deep ball.

Re: Coles Senario
I wouldn't go so far as to say Coles is a top 10 receiver. A top 20? Possibly. Maybe a few years ago, pre-toe injury he would have been a top 10 receiver.
