Final Cuts 2018

Here is a link for tracking the cuts:
https://www.hogshaven.com/2018/8/31/...dates-and-more

I liked Perrine, but I think he's gone.
As others have said, it's really too little to late, but certainly would be nice to hear about some OG movement.

Otherwise I am hoping Quinn makes the team, as tough as that will be, and Dayan Smith. I know it was against guys going to work in grocery stores soon, but something in the he found and hit the right holes thinks he's got a shot.

Re: Final Cuts 2018

I have a feeling that Perine is going to remain on the team. The logic behind this will be that they have Byron Marshall on IR (I don't think his injury is season long), and this gives them time to see if they'll need a backup for CT or not. If they need a backup to CT, they'll designate Marshall to return from IR.

AP, Rob, CT, Bibbs at running back. Marshall to IR

Call someone to move Perine or cut his ass and try to make it to the practice squad

Bibbs has been decent IMO

Re: Final Cuts 2018

Yeah trade Perine to a RB needy team who has depth at G and who would just end up cutting a serviceable G anyway.

Easier said than done but worth a shot.

Agree...long shot for sure.

Bibbs has outplayed Marshall.
Why add Marshalls injuries to our list of problems?

We need to keep Bibbs to backup CT on 3rd downs.
Other spot is between Kelley and Perine.
Perine has a better upside but fumbles are killing him.

What would we get in a trade for Perine? Lunch at Subway? He is worth literally nothing.

Meh, you never know...someone could have liked him in the draft. I think if he was cut then a decent chance he would be added to a roster. Low salary as well.

There is some serious old, recycled rb across the league.

any word on cuts. Seems like more news would have been out, at least the obvious 20-25.

You are right, all you could hope to get is a player who the other team would just end up cutting anyway (also worth nothing more than a five dollar foot long). Look for a team with great interior OL depth and try to exchange player who’d be cut for player who’d be cut.

It’s practically certain to be a fool’s errand but that tells you all you need to know about our interior offensive line depth, we need to turn over every stone because it’s an issue.

Not seeing anything yet. News should trickle out throughout the day, I’d watch JP’s twitter feed. If the team leaks news it will be to him given their Comcast/NBC relationship.

If news leaks from the players it could come from anywhere tho so eyes peeled.

Re: Final Cuts 2018

It’s funny, the guys we’re talking about fighting for spots on the 53 are those most likely to be inactive on game day. Except for RB. And yet I’m on pins and needles waiting for the news.

But I guess as the season progresses and injuries mount up at some point they’ll play an important role.

I think I’m so interested just because I want to see if the Skins agree with who I think are the best 53 because after all I’m the expert.

Re: Final Cuts 2018

Last year this time we waived Matt Jones and Sudfeld who both made their way to Philly. I don't miss them, but:
(1) Will suck if Sudfeld develops into good young backup
(2) If we also dump Perine, we've missed on 6 out of 7 drafted RBs in past 5 years (and missed on 2 out of 3 in top 4 rounds)

Haha this! I think it's so glorifying when you're right on such precise low key football details ^^
