Trent Williams holding out for new deal

Again. I’ve read two possibilities. Houston offers a 2020 1st or Jags offer Jalen Ramsey. I’ll take either at this point, and roll with Penn one year. Use our first rounder in 2020 to take best LT available. Maybe Georgia’s Andrew Thomas. It will be a good LT class.

This is a critical year, and they CANNOT afford the distractions or drama. If I had to guess I’d say this is half on Bruce Allen and half on Trent. We can’t do anything about Bruce, but we can trade Trent and move on.

The Texans have the cap room to take TW (most cap room in the NFL). A first-round pick in 2020 would certainly be better than getting a second or third-round pick from the Pats.

I think the TW problem comes down to money. We had $12 million left in cap money before we hired Penn. Why not use some of it for TW? We could get several very good years with him, and time to draft new OL prospects.

If you’re Bruce Allen and someone offers a 2020 first, do you take it?

Sadly, I'd say yes to a 1st Rd pick I'd this isn't handled within the next few weeks.

You guys are dreaming if you think anyone will give a first for Trent considering injury history and age.

I love Trent, appreciate everything he's done for the Redskins, but this is a no-brainer.

Maybe we wait him out, another team loses a tackle and has a spare first rounder? Hell, even for a 2nd rounder I'd do it.

The longer this goes the more I believe Trent doesn't want to play for us. He's made plenty of bank in his career and I don't doubt he could sit out the year if he wanted to.

Wait until a team lose their starting LT, they have a shot at a playoff run, and they’re desperate.

Teams give up firsts all that time for players they shouldn’t.

Of. Course. But nobody is offering a first for an aged player who is slightly injury prone.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

Sheehan says the growth on Trent's head goes back 2 years. team doctors looked at it and said it's probably nothing but you should get it looked at.

TW had it looked it this off season and the Dr said it was a tumor that was malignant, it freaked him out since he has small kids.

I wish someone on the team would address what is really going on. If this is true, then the Redskins aren't liable for anything.

Strange that a guy with millions of dollars didn't go get that second opinion and have the thing removed. I could see someone who was broke and had no medical insurance putting it off. It has been mentioned on numerous sites that Trent's attitude went downhill when Geron Christian was drafted. Could be a case of a soured relationship where everything starts looking bad to an individual.
