The National Football Post is reporting that you don’t have to wonder about who the next Redskins head coach will be. It’s going to be Mike Shanahan.

Screw it. If we're going to hell in a hand-basked we might as well enjoy the ride. This is fun! If it's true, I feel sorry for Zorn, but not that sorry.

DON'T FIRE ZORN NOW!

I don't see this being good for our next 2 games w/div. rivals. I want our Skins to play spoiler & at least send Zorn out w/his dignity.

I hope there's no truth to the Shanny deal, but there probably is.

I agree. Do I think there is truth to the Shanny deal? Absolutely. Do I think it should be kept under wraps and Zorn finisih the season? yes. Changing coaches at 4-9 with 3 games left makes absolutely no sense.

Lets remember, Jerry Jones has great respect and admiration for Shanny. Snyder wants this deal done before Wade Phillips is ousted. I absolutely 100% believe a deal with Shanahan is done. But please wait.

I think its great, it lets the new coach see the players for 3 games and evaluate who really wants to be here next year. I'm tired of how our usual starter attitude has been recently, where you just show up, do your own thing, and get paid regardless.

I get the impression this is not about firing Zorn...now, but locking up Shanny NOW, as he is a pretty hot commodity

I agree. I think Zorn should get another year with a working offensive line and david and cooley in at the same time.

BUT, if Shanahan is willing to come on now then a proven coach is always better than an unproven one.

However, as Zorn has proven to be a true man working through a very hard situation - I would suggest that Zorn stay on as offensive coordinator/QB coach with shanahan as head coach and play caller.

I think Zorn is a proven QB coach and ready for the step as offensive coordinator - which is a promotion. Zorn only got the job because the real coaches available refused to work with Vinny. Keeping Zorn and Campell and the Z-man West coast in place and having Shanahan come in and add his wrinkles would be a good move.

My question is - one: can Shanahan win without Elway and 2: all those 4th quarter comebacks - you know the air is thinner in mile high so teams not accustomed to the low oxygen got tired faster. Shanahan won't have that in DC.

I also wonder what happens to portis? he has a history with Shanahan...

Honestly You can't take those 2 SB's away from Shanny just bcuz Elway.. He built a great team around Elway.. Remember John never won a SB until Shanahan was there.. As far as CP... He would be gone regardless, I doubt he wants to play in DC anymore.. I will be very interested in JC, If I were a betting man I would say Shanny will bring in another QB, Via the Draft. If so we still need a veteran QB and I think JC is Solid.. Also if I remember right, he had some teams that ran a 3-4 Defense... Alot of questions to be answered.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal

Zorn had to see this coming though, in all fairness. The team turned around as soon as he stopped calling plays...what does that tell you???

No offense, but how is this different from any of the other rumors?

It isnt except for the fact that National Football Post has a great track record.

No offense to DC Pro Sports report, but they're referencing a source that I wouldn't exactly consider to be the most credible in the world. When an ESPN, Wa Post, or SI starts jumping on this, then I'll buy it.
