Eric Flowers was VERY good????

Was he?

I really didn't pay much attention to him to be candid, which is probably a good sign.
I thought he was actually. I am pretty sure on AP's first run Flowers pushed his guy straight back to open the lane. I would like to see Penn and Flowers and Penn and Martin against firsts. It's clear the 2nd year tackle is out of his league.

Don't know if the link will work but if you watch Flowers on this run you see him control his guy throughout

Ok my bad I saw the left side of the line having issues and assumed Flowers was part of it, I'll have to watch again focusing on him.

Watched back the offensive snaps of the 1st half... I honestly don't know what I saw the first time (watched around 1am, not a great idea). Flowers played well.
The thing is I'm more excited by Wes Martin's talent and I want to see him win this job so I just remembered the one bad play Flowers had, to comfort me in what I already thought.

It’s encouraging news flowers is improving and left guard is becoming a battle. Nothing but a positive.

Looks like geron Christian has not turned a corner yet as an NFL player and every report I’ve ever heard is he’s garbage. Not giving up but he should be showing some potential in year 2 as a 3rd round pick

Is Flowers improving or were the guys lining up across from him going to be selling insurance when the season starts?

Its also the one place our rotation and depth looks solid. Settle especially looks like he will get a lot of snaps

So the NFL's official statement on the Kelvin Harmon PI call is that he pushed off around the 50, which conveniently isn't available to see on the regular tv footage but if you're willing to pay for the All-22 you can probably find it on there. I'd have to see it to exonerate them on that call because I thought it was about Harmon trying to make a play on the ball.
You can see the guy, hard to call him a ref, when he throws the flag, he is looking right at the attempt to catch the ball and then the flag comes out. If it was about what happened at the 50 the flag should have been out before the catch was ever attempted

Damn right! I'm all for comeback players. Go Ereck Flowers!

p.s. I'm glad that Hogs Haven pointed out Josh Harvey-Clemon's excellent game versus Cinn. He made plays all over the field.

I agree, the timing was hella suspect. Maybe the NFL is covering up for their ref and he was reprimanded privately? I hope that's the case.

Flowers played against Cincinnati's first team defense. I believe the long run by AP happened on the offense's first snap of the game.

Looking at the challenges I have seen, i think the nfl is trying to make coaches gun shy on challenging PI. Its kind of like holding, hand fighting and contact happens on every pass and the refs will use that to their benefit
