He's not a bad back but I feel like he could have been a reach in the 2nd.. He doesn't have that "wow" factor like Guice does.

@AdamSchefter

Lions keep picking players before other teams can. Detroit drafted Auburn RB Kerryon Johnson at No. 43 with Washington preparing to take him at No. 44. Then Detroit drafted UL Laf CB Tracy Walker at No. 82 before Carolina could get him at No. 85. Always stories behind each pick.

Re: Guice Theory

So, I just did a quick look at Johnson. Whew! So much happier with Guice!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx54PFMOgcs

Sure, Guice highlights have him running through big holes, but there are also quite a few where he runs plunges forward for yards when the play calls for it. Johnson, on the other hand, when the LOS is clogged, comes to a complete stop at the LOS in order to dance left or right before resuming forward movement.

All of Johnson's highlights have him making big runs untouched or dancing in the backfield. Guice just moves forward.

Johnson has some Leveon Bell to him IMO the way he stops and starts

Re: Guice Theory

I don't like Guice as much as many here, but holy man do I like him better at 59 than Johnson at 44. Johnson was the most overrated back in the draft to me. Always hurt.

Thanks Detroit.

Re: Guice Theory

Redskins senior VP of player personnel Doug Williams said he is not worried about second-round RB Derrius Guice.

Williams seemed to shoot down rumors of off-field concerns. "For this kid, who doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, hasn’t been arrested, no failed drug tests," Williams said. "He’s a happy-go-lucky kid." Williams also said he grew up in the same area as Guice, so he understands what it took for him to get where he is today. It is looking like Washington got a steal late in the second round.

You've got to figure it's Guice plus a 3rd round pick, where Detroit took Johnson minus a 4th round pick

I like ours better.

So, I watched a couple of Bell's college highlight reels. To me, at the college level he ran a lot more like DG then KJ. Explosive out of his cuts, even when made cuts behind the LOS, he would plant and explode forward. He never seemed to stop his forward momentum. Guice ran the same way. In his highlights, KJ literally comes to a stop in the backfield losing all his forward momentum and, when he starts forward again, it is without explosion.

Look, it's one or two sets of highlight reels. I could be dead wrong, but DG looks like a back who - if he has decent vision - will be great at this level. KJ, to me anyway, not so much.

Time will tell, hopefully, however, DG is the real deal regardless of KJ's success level.

I don't like him as much in general. I don't mind him at 59. I wanted to puke when there were discussions on this board about him at 13.

I believe he is the better of the two backs.

My theory is he rushes for 1200+ this year.

We got Juice and a future starting LT for the price of getting Juice.

If we have average health, we're scoring a lot of points.

Doctson will be a pro bowl caliber WR. Book it.
I guess that new dispensary in PB has some good shit.

PB had some good shit long before the dispensary. Too bad I lost my old phone book.
I agree about Guice running for 1200. 9 td’s too.
Doctson a pro bowler?? Not so much. I just hope he is solid.

Took too many carries, always hurt, and for a bigger guy seemed to go down with first contact too much for me

He seems to run very upright, that will definitely lead to injuries
