Yup, almost
And you think those stats merit head coaching consideration? The day we fire mike Shanahan and hires fewell is the day this organization crossed the point of no return in being the worst in the NFL.

Yes he's worthy of being interviewed based on his resume.

It doesn't mean he's being strongly considered for the job.

So are coaches suppose to be hired strictly based on stats? No coach can have success without good players on the field. Fewell is well deserving of a interview.

Fewell would be a solid pick, who would he hire as is his OC?

I think you may be expecting too much from a HC candidate. Not many coaches have perfect credentials before becoming successful as HC. Just for a point of reference:

Bill Bellichick - 36-44 as Cleveland's HC

Tom Coughlin - 60-68 (19-29 in last three years) as JAX HC

Sean Payton - had play calling responsibilities taken away from him by Jim Fassel in 2002 after several poor offensive showings; then he was assistant HC to Parcells in Dallas with a record of (25-23) and Offensive Rank in points of (21, 25, 15)

John Harbaugh - Eagles ST coach for 9 years , then DB coach for 1 . . . That's it?

Mike Tomlin- very successful as DB coach of TB from 2001-2005, then was Vikings DC where his defense ranked 8th overall, 1st against the Run, and last against the Pass,

So, yeah, most of these guys did some awesome stuff that I didn't mention, but the point is, not everyone has stellar credentials and everyone has some blemishes on their record.

I have a feeling we are going to end up with option 4 or 5 after it's all said and done.

Art Briles.

I am impressed with watching the Eagles offense. Im currently watching the Baylor game and his fuel on the sideline is something we need in Washington

Imagine us spreading the ball out and utilizing Garcon in open space and Morris running the football against 6 man boxes

I have no doubt Briles is a better coach than Shanny. Still worry about the defense though. The right guy will make the unit respectable overnight. Otherwise the teams ceiling is probably .500 even if Briles is awesome.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)

well, i think the two guys we're talking to show that at least we're looking in the right places (seahawk's OC, carolina's DC). we'll see who else shows up on their list, but that's a good start.

I still think shaw would be best if that were a doable thing.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)

I see no problems in being meticulous in our coaching search. I think we have a lot of pieces in place and we need to make sure we have a coach that can take those pieces (as well as the cap resources) and make our team successful.
