What are the chances that the Redskins will draft Brett Rypien ?

As you all know the Rypien name is one of the most well known in Redskins history...mock drafts have the Redskins drafting a quarterback in the 1st round...but what if they draft a WR or a edge rusher in the 1st round and take a QB in the 2nd or 3rd rounds ? Doug Williams knows Mark Rypien well...and would it be too farfetched to think that Mark's nephew Brett Rypien has been scouted heavily by the Redskins and the Redskins might draft him?

Below are some of Brett Rypien's highlights.

He's a late 4 or 5 guy at best. I don't see the skins looking to draft 2 QBs, especially after they move up for Murray

They moved up to take RGIII and still drafted Kirk Cousins!

Just sayin', I guess it could happen.

Hmm...most the mock drafts I've seen have Rypien going in the 3rd or 4th round...besides between the combine and pro day his stock could move up to the 2nd round.....if Alex Smith is on the mend I don't see them taking a QB with the 15th overall pick let alone trading up....a standard starting QB can be drafted on day 2.

I would consider him with the 3rd round comp pick. It is hard to evaluate him when he has 5 seconds to pass and receivers open by 5+ yds

If he's a third round pick, I'd probably be OK taking him in the third or fourth. I would use that first rounder on an edge rusher or corner.

I like the accuracy and the arm, and I like the name!

Personally I think that the Redskins should take a chance on him!

Re: What are the chances that the Redskins will draft Brett Rypien ?

Love the instincts, love the accuracy, love that he has gotten under center, reads the field. There's a lot to like about Rypien. I would take him all day long over Murray. Hopefully we have a chance to draft him. It would be a great story and get the fans excited.

I love the idea, as everybody knows picking the son of a good player typically means that player will be great too.

/sarcasm, in case it wasn't obvious.

I'd rather we forget his last name and judge him by his merits as a quarterback.

It’s Mark’s nephew

You would take him over Murray?? OK that's a little extreme.
