The Lions have some talent on O, Their D is very bad though other than Hutchinson.

I think Wentz has another 300 yard game and we pull it out in the 4th QTR.

30 - 24

Dan Campbell will not abandon the run like the Jags did…it will be the focal point of their offense.

Stopping the run on first and second down and forcing them into 3rd and longs will be key.

LB need to come to play…Forrest needs to get his pop-on Swift. I imagine if Curl back then Forrest slides into the Buffalo nickel

Re: Pre game Thread - Commanders at Lions Sun 1 pm

Feels nice to be 1-0. 2-0 would be twice as nice and I'd feel positive that the team is actually improved from last year.

I know, I know, it's only been 1 week, but our schedule looks easier than it did on paper prior to the year.

I'd favor the Eagles over us next week, but I think we are at least a push, if not the favorite, in the following 3 vs Cowboys, Titans, Bears. Doesn't mean we can't lose all 3, but I'll be expecting us to win at least 2 of those 3.

First time Lions favored in 24 games. Hope the team is fully aware of this.
Suddenly appears the division is up for grabs. Cowboys are done with Dak being out, Eagles defense didn’t exactly look like the Steel curtain as their fan base thought it would. This is a game we have to win. Cant lose to sub par teams.

Of course they have beaten us 5 out of the last 6 so who are we to call them sub par.

I think people (in general) use the previous year's results too much when factoring in the schedule and how easy or hard it will be. I think this year's schedule will turn out to be more difficult than it appears on paper.

There are usually no "easy outs" in the NFL, and that includes this week against Detroit.

Re: Pre game Thread - Commanders at Lions Sun 1 pm

To me, its not about looking at the schedule and finding "easy" wins. This is the NFL, I don't think there are easy wins. It's looking at recent results + offseason additions and finding games that should be reasonably winnable. This is a winnable game. And most Detroit fans likely think the same thing about us.

Should be winnable does not mean we will win. But I like our chances.

Re: Pre game Thread - Commanders at Lions Sun 1 pm

If we can stop the run -- and Swift looked, well swift against the Eagles -- we should be OK. But they are going to come in fired up after feeling robbed last week, and it will be smashmouth football all day. Stop the run, win the game. Goff and their receivers aren't scary.

Make Goff beat you. Absolutely. Hopefully if we get a nice lead this week. We keep the foot on the pedal and not go conservative.

I was reading that pre season the lions Oline is decent. Our guys up front gotta occupy them and then LB have to clean up. so I’m worried….Davis and Holcomb gotta show up. Both played like shit last week
