Not surprising. Running game is bad. Not blaming Gibson here. O-line anyone?
About the Oline and blocking, it’s seems to be a better pass protection line than a run blocking line. Schreff was a road grading run blocker. Cosmi seems to be better at pass pro than getting out on the run. Flowers seemed like a better run blocker than protection guy. I think it’s personal and a decision to regard pass protection over run blocking. I dunno, just a thought.

The defense needs Chase Young back, we need a playmaker out there to help.

JDR is absolute garbage and we need to hire a more aggressive DC

Eagles open as 4 point favorites next week..

I know it's early but with this defense I just don't see how we will stop that Offense.

Hurts is going to run for 227 yards.

I’ll probably catch the 4th Qtr again like yesterday. I’m not spending my whole sunday watching these guys anymore. At the end of the day, they don’t effect our personal lives and we as fans need to just accept that we suck and will most likely lose most of our games. I don’t even get mad anymore

Re: Lions postgame

Sports radio pontificated on going 5 down linemen to stop the run.

---------------

Is the point of playing the corners 10 yards off the LOS .. to try and keep the plays in front of them and have the corners collapse/close in quickly? Give up the short underneath stuff but dont let guys get behind you?

If we had a good run D I can see the point, the bend dont break D, make them go 10 plays down field knowing a penalty or turnover or a 3rd and long will kill the drive.

8.0 yds per carry by Lions for 191 run yds. Yeah kinda skewed bc of a 58 yard sweep run by a WR and Swift had a 50 yarder

6.8 yds per carry by Jags.

If we arent stopping the run ... playing the corners back to "keep everything in front of you, give up the short stuff but dont get beat deep" approach might not work. If teams can get 8 yards on a 1st down run .. their playbook is wide open to get creative, take shots.

--------------

Go 5 down lineman ... or go man aggressive on the outside, bring Forrest into the box and stop the run, take the chance of getting beat deep.

Per JP Findlay, Roullier to short-term IR. This is terrible news.

Larsen on IR, Schweitzer hurt ...

I guess we call up Toth. Ismael was released, resigned and then released a few weeks ago on IR with an injury settlement.

I imagine our WRs make them better at pass pro too, but yeah definitely think there has been a transition towards pass pro

Re: Lions postgame

Here is the red zone defense efficiency (TDs only) this year.

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/sta...ne-scoring-pct

Our D is sitting at 17th for the two weeks combined but 2/3rds of RZ trips by Lions resulted in touchdowns (which was 20th this week with 4 teams left to play). Misleading because we are dead last in RZ trips allowed:

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/sta...empts-per-game

For our offense RZ scoring efficiency we have batter 1.000

I'd move Fuller to the slot and put St. Juste on the outside. WJ3 was rather solid as a Bengal. I think he's being used inappropriately by JDR and Rivera.

Accurate.

Glad you guys enjoyed - SD I did have a good time at the show yesterday, me and the lil' bro been going to that show since we were kids.

On topic - fucking christ JDR sucks. Like when you hear the quotes about the Lions watching film and ID'ing weaknesses like we can't identify formations - is that not on the staff? I've seen enough - it's year 3 and they're getting ass-blasted two weeks in a row. Ron your ship is gonna sink if you don't move on from the dead weight.

It pains me how many quality d-coordinators were overlooked for JDR since Ron got here. There really is no excuse - especially putting Holcomb in the middle in what is obviously a last-gasp hail mary because they didn't fill the position in the offseason.

You guys really think this d is gonna improve when Chase comes back? LOL.
