Even better, trade back take him and get Karl Joseph and a DE in the second. I would be jumping with Joy.

McCloughan rarely trades the first round pick, he much prefers to take that one and then do his dealing in the 3-4 rounds.

And that would be my preference too...
He seems to think hes smart enough (and most think he is) to get potential starters in the later rounds.

Well, generally speaking you see more trading in the middle and later rounds league wide. I don't think Scot's lack of trades in the first round is necessarily an indication of his preference, it's an indication that there isn't as much demand to trade up for a first rounder as there is in the middle or later rounds. Trading up in the first round is really expensive. It takes two to tango.

If he gets an offer for that first rounder and it delivers draft chart value, I promise he'd jump at it.

This draft is DEEP in DTs so I think they wait until 2nd or 3rd round to address that position. I see us going for a CB in 1st. Perhaps Mackensie Alexander or Eli Apple.

While I believe D-Line is the most obvious choice with the first pick, I think CB would be second choice if both those guys are on the board.

not at all, Culliver stays this year. Next year may be a different story. Breeland contract coming up too.

I think CB is a spot where you look at add top young talent when you can....that position is a little more in demand across the league as well. Like pass rushers, top coverage guys you can never have enough.

That jaylen Smith looks like a promising player even off injury. Wonder if we'd take him

Re: With the 21st Pick, Redskins select...

I have a gut feeling that we are gonna trade #21 to Seattle for #26 and maybe swap another pick later in the draft. For the swap we pick up Kam Chancellor and at #26 we either select a DL or CB. Or maybe even drop back a few more spots to early 2nd and take a WR there and pick a DL with our 2nd round pick. And honestly I wouldn't be mad at all if they pulled this kinda move.

These are the top prospects I think McC and Skins will target in the first two rounds of the draft, not in any order:

Ryan Kelly center
Ashawn Robinson DL
Noah Spence OLB
Mike Thomas WR
Mackenzie Alexander CB
Andrew Billings NT
Karl Joseph S
Vernon Butler DT
Chris Jones DL
Jarren Reed DL

I see a combo of McC trying to get 2 of these players while obtaining an additional pick in the process.

Kenny Clark DT should be on the list too.

I would be very excited about getting any two of those players. If we were to get two of them and add another pick in the process, I'd be jumping for joy!

He might fall to the 3rd or 4th round because of injury and might not play this year. I would take him in a heartbeat.
