Redskins free agent signings 2018

Free agency is here folks and it starts with a bang!!!

#Redskins bringing back Dustin Hopkins. This was one of the deals I fully expected to get done. Good guy and strong leg. That's the kind of young kicker to develop, which the skins havent done for years

Good.
Now let's get resign Brown.

And hope we can keep Breeland at a not too crazy price.

Is it naive to hope Sherman under the market deal could lower other FA CBs contracts a little bit?

Brown is a must, Breeland would be nice too. As far as non Redskins, Badger is by far the 1st on my list, he's a game changing safety that is rare to have. On offense I'd like to sign a Guard if possible and maybe WR (Moncrief)

Mathieu wasn't released though.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Some have said he could be, or that he could be trade bait.

Washington placed 2nd-round tender on OT Ty Nsekhe, per source.

Basically guarantees he's staying.

If it does not work with Brown there are several other decent ILB's in free agency: Navorro Bowman, Nigel Bradham, Anthony Hitchens, Paul Posluszny, Tahir Whitehead and Avery Williamson.

I'd add Demario Davis to the list!

135 tackles last year (6th in the league, ahead of all the guys you named), 87.3 PFF grade, at 29 years old (same as Bowman) he should still have at least 3/4 really good years left in the tank...

Might be less expensive than Bowman because he's less of a known name, (maybe because he only played for the Jets and the Browns)... that's a signing I'd like !

Yes, I meant to add him but missed it somehow.
There are several good free agents this year and a fairly good draft.
Our Front Office needs to step it up.
I miss the days we had Bobby Beathard and Charlie Casserly running our front office. Back then we used to draft starters like Clint Didier in the 12th round, Charlie Brown in the 8th round and Daryl Grant in the 9th round.

And what about Preston Brown, leading tackler in the league (144!), 25 years old, 71.6 PFF grade ?

Agreed.
This may very well be the reason why they haven't been more agressive in resigning Zach Brown.
If he wants 10M+, we'd be better off paying that to somebody who can cover consistently.
But maybe the amount of quality ILBs available will bring the market down and we can resign him to a more reasonable price!

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018

FWIW: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will visit the Redskins today as @RapSheet reported earlier. DRC played in the slot the last two years with NYG. Skins want a slot guy; Aaron Colvin one to watch once FA begins.

He also says P Rich is still our top wr target

I'd like us very to sign Richardson.

Not sure what to think of DRC visiting us though... does this mean they're done trying to keep Bree ?
Then if Moreau is gonna start outside, couldn't we sign a younger guy or even draft a guy and start him in the slot ?

I'd imagine Bree is going to be gone if we sign a CB, Moreau will most likely be the #2
