I hope in terms of personnel, whether it be coaching or players, that Scot McCloughan, for better or worse, has total control. Like you said, hopefully Bruce Allen is just a front office cheerleader. He's good with dealing with all the political stuff surrounding the team, but I hope he stays out of the player personnel stuff.

Not sure how much "power" Bruce / Scott has in the grand scheme of things, but who do you think would really win if it came down to it? When Gruden made the decision to install Cousins as the starter, we had all those stories of how Dan was "livid" and basically had to be calmed down and pacified from completely going nuts. I'm just saying Dan, to me, is the ultimate X factor. You never know what he will decide at the most inopportune moment. Still would not put it past him to send his possible franchise QB packing if he thinks he has a better idea. It sounds dumb to us, but we have watched his dumb decisions essentially since 1999.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Rich Tandler did everything but outright state that Snyder is preventing a deal from happening. As for Bruce Allen, I doubt that he is influencing Snyder very much. He seems to have become Snyder's equivalent of Smithers.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Well, there you have it. Dan Snyder is what will be the reason why Cousins walks this year. Dan Snyder will also be the reason why we are never going to amount to $hit. This is truly classic Dan stuff right here.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Well, Snyder doesn't have to like Cousins. I don't think JKC liked Mark Rypien. But, what Snyder does have to do is trust that the football guys in the front office are making the best decisions. I realize it's "Snyder's" money, but of all people, he should know that when it comes to business (and Kirk's contract is business) you don't get rich or get ahead by not taking chances. This is one of those opportunities that Snyder has available to him to show his staff and the fans that he really has changed and he's got confidence in the guys he's placed in charge. If he truly is blocking the deal from going through, then he has learned nothing from the past 15+ years, and that this franchise is doomed.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Talked to a uber driver today in San Francisco, he told me the rumor is skins will tag and trade kirk to SF for their 1St and 3rd. With a defensive starter. He said he's heard it for a week now. Where is SS when we need him??

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Well the KC to SF rumors are definitely out there. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. The Redskins FO has been real quiet since the season ended. Nothing from SM at all.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
It's probably because of the Kyle Shanahan connection. I'm sure he does want Kirk Cousins, but it sounds a bit far off to me that the 49ers would be willing to give up their #2 pick and a 3rd for Cousins. If this is the case, then slap the non-exclusive tag on Cousins and force the 49ers out of a second first rounder pick.
