Maybe we have (should have) the edge with our D against their O. On paper the D looks pretty good, but they got gashed a lot in the preseason, and then stepped up when it counted numerous times too.

The offense looked pretty good for the most part with Sam at the helm, but how much of that was vanilla Ds and going against 2s and 3s?

We'll see. Probably should win by 7-10 points, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer or we lose. I'm just not exactly sure what to expect yet.
AZ's defense is expected to rank near the bottom of the league. their secondary is poor, their LB's are poor and their Dline is poor . . . all they have it Baker and he doesn't want to be there.

I hope you're right, and I'm not saying they're elite or anything, but IMO don't be surprised if their front 7 proves to be a tougher than expected test for our question mark Oline.

Also r.e. Ron's comments about not knowing what a good player Howell was last year, and Pat McAfee saying Ron has basically lost his fastball - I'm getting real 2007 Joe Gibbs vibes here. Ron has been through a lot the last few years and he did get this organization back to a respectable standpoint. I wouldn't be surprised if we have another 7-10 win year and a quick playoff exit (if we even make it there) and he retires after this year.
John Keim has some good information on Sam Howell and his development last year. It sounds many of the offensive coaches did not think he was ready, and Ron based his decision on that. And that they wanted to give him an opportunity in the Houston game.

I still think a lot of the QB indecision at the season stemmed from Snyder's meddling (maybe when he knew he was selling, he stopped meddling).

Ben Standig -

Commanders DE Chase Young is progressing from the "stinger" injury suffered in the preseason opener. However, he is still not cleared for contact, is expected to meet with another doctor this week, and is uncertain for Week 1, sources tell @TheAthletic.

bad pass pro O line + Howell not reading blitz = more quick game passing.

We now have a QB that can push the ball down field ... but a poorer O line than last year.

At least Eric B is familiar w Wylie's weaknesses and Leno is serviceable on his own most times.

No he is not. When he has been I don’t see what I expected anyway. Oh well. Maybe one of these years he will prove me wrong.

Mathis also.

Any team in the NFL is a tough test for our o line.

We got at least one more year. Need to replace our brain trust. Need to rebuild the oline, lb’s.

How do you define fine? Is fine winning or not getting embarrassed by good teams? Is fine coming out in each half flat and than fighting to make things respectable? Also camp shmamp, every fan of every team thinks their team will be fine before the season starts. Im thinking 8 wins tops this year.
