Simple Favor - was good, give it a 4/5 or so. Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively were good, I wouldnt pick it if it was just me watching but was a good couples movie.
I thought 4 xmas was kind of funny.

Watched die hard and xmas vacation on Friday with my son and his buddy, they are 11 they loved the movies.

I watched it and there was a good hour and half of my life I wish I had back. It was okay but not one of his better films imo.

I also watched Die Hard over the holiday break. Still a timeless classic.

Uncut Gems is also on my watch list. I'm excited to see Sandler redeem his name again.

Funny Games (2007) -- it was okay. I was expecting to be shocked and guilted for watching senseless grotesque violence but it wasnt really shocking at all. Would not recommend. Had the same feel as Invitation.

I'm in the mood for a good space movie, should I watch Interstellar, Sunshine, or Ad Astra

Hold on...aren't you leaving out a new release that should be in your wheel house?

Took the fam to Star Wars tonight enjoyed it. Thought there were some questions but not going to spoil it by asking. Definitely worth a go even for the casual fan.

1917 -- really good movie to see in the theaters. Visuals, sound and the cinematography are great.

It feels like the whole movie was just one continuos shot which is weird and cool.

8.5/10

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

Just watched London Has Fallen on demand this weekend. Pretty damn good straight action movie. Some good dry humor lines too.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

Star Wars - its alright, i havent really followed the new movies. I watched them.... once .... pretty much didnt know the plot lines but its Star Wars and i was an 80s kid so Im obligated.

Before Star Wars I saw a trailer for a Christopher Nolan movie called Tenet ... looks bad ass. So i just googled the release date ... July 17 2020.

WTF is that about. Seems about 4 months to early to be promoting ... anyway, disappointed its so far back.

edit -- looked into Tenet some more, jesus the budget was 205 Million dollars. Good lord.

Lady Bird -- fuck that movie sucked. Shallow, paint by numbers movie about a high school senior coming of age bit ... which was billed as some great refreshing introspection piece.
