We need to accept this fact...lotta folks on this board need too.
So you'd want to star over with a new QB next year, even if we make the playoffs?

I can understand if the team just falls off the cliff, but that hasn't happened.

Think about this:
- The core of the current defense is likely to come back next year.
- Guice will come back next year.
- You can get better receivers next year through the draft or see how some of the current young receivers work out.
- You can draft a project QB and see what happens.

I just don't think any FA QB can come in and be successful, as people want it, right away.

Granted, this could all change if Alex decides to hang it up.

This isn't a great draft class to be in need of a QB.

That said we still have 6 games to go in this season, maybe more.

Yes even if we make the playoffs i don't want CM as QB1 going into next season.

What if Colt plays well? We're getting way ahead of things from tossing dirt on Alex to thinking Colt can't be the starter heading into 2019. Pump the brakes folks.

If he plays lights out and we win the division then maybe so but I just don't think that will happen. We will find out in 3 days

I personally wouldn’t mind seeing teddy bridgewater and drafting a young guy.

You guys with your vet minimums.

Teddy is coming back from a horrific injury a few years ago.
Also, the Saints are grooming him to replace Brees in a couple of years.

Basically, he isn't coming to DC.

Nah Hill is replacing Brees, Teddy is actually the 3rd stringer to be honest

I'd take Carr, he's better than he looks this yr. I don't see them trading him though

Says pretty much every draft expert, I haven’t seen anyone that’s high on this class

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft

Whether Smith got hurt or not, whether Colt plays well or not, we simply need to draft a QB in the first 3 rounds of the draft. Period.

We'll need to keep 3 on the roster. Always have a young QB in the building developing. IMO should have kept Sudfeld, especially w/ the Cousins situation. Another fuck up by the FO.

For the pro Smith crowd, what the hell did you see that tells you that he's worthy of being a starter going forward? He was hesitant and jumpy in the pocket. The offense is too stagnant and we have to go on long drives to score. No big play ability at all. We're too easy to defend, no one respects his arm. He can be a pricey backup for a couple years.

And last, Bruce needs to be fired ASAP. He has mismanaged the QB's, starting w/ McNabb, Rg3, Cousins and now Smith. Move on from him now please.
