Yeah, his interview in Keim's podcast was somewhat gut wrenching to hear when he said that. And he was being very classy about it, saying it was more of a contract issue as opposed to being pushed out for Jeff George (which is what actually happened). Yeah Danny f*cked up big time with that.

Re: Ranking our starting QB's since Rypien

I remember when we signed Brad Johnson he rolled out a picture of himself at about 12 years old in a Redskins jacket. He grew up in NC and said it was his childhood dream to be our QB.

Thanks a lot, Snyder.

Re: Ranking our starting QB's since Rypien

If you guys remember when the trade went down for Johnson Snyder and the trustees for JKC tried to stop it. That is really how Trent Green got away, regular business was at a halt. Paul T had to step and and let Casserly do his job.

Brad Johnson wasn't a great QB by any means. He was pretty average for the most part. He wouldn't have got us over the top w/ the teams we had here. He fizzed out after winning the SB w/ Tampa and the defense led the way there anyway. Good QB, nothing more or less.

KC has had plenty of come from behind wins and was better than Johnson. But I can now see why he can rub people the wrong way. He is selfish and perhaps a bit of a stat padder. But none the less he is better than anyone we have had here in a long time.

At the end of the day it's business and most fans can't get past that. The teams are trying to pay you as little as possible and the players are tying to get the most possible. I don't have a problem w/ Cousins getting paid and not sure why anyone else does. Frankly he earned it. He bet on himself and won. How many players do that in the NFL? None - not to mention held two of the most hated people in Washington hostage for a couple years. Like him or not Cousins is as smart a business man that there is in the NFL.

It irks me to think about how good this team could have been if f*cking Danny had not meddle and we could have kept Johnson.
That 99 season kills me. One bad snap away from the NFC championship game against the rams with Green, Bailey, and Dishman at corner. What could’ve been.

Compared to the following 21 years (22 if this doesn't go well) of Snyder, that season was our gold standard. Really fucking sad. Snyder is a walking/breathing curse.

Also Snyder had absolutely nothing to do w/ putting together the 99 Redskins. That was all Casserly leaving Snyder w/ a playoff team.

I have not watched much of Tua. IF we are looking for a qb this offseason, and our draft board makes getting a stud unlikely, would Tua make sense, or is he headed to bust status?

Before we decide to make a move for someone like Tua, I would like to see how Heinicke fares this year. As of right now, I don't see how Tua would be an upgrade though.

Of course. My comment was meant IF Heinicke suddenly drops back to undrafted oft injured form.

Gotcha.

Well, let's just hope Heinicke balls out the rest of the year, then we can talk about what Veteran backup we'll be bringing in.

He has not been good, and I believe he never will be. Serviceable? Maybe? I want no part of him though. We are going to draft a quarterback next year, and I hope TH stays healthy for the foreseeable future. Dude looks really good as long as he stays healthy. I think his previous injuries were just dumb luck.

Yup. That one hurt. We were so close. Loved Albert Connell.
What else kills me is that we had Trent Green and Rich Gannon - talk about what could have been.

A lot of people were very high on him. I just wonder if he could benefit from the change of scenery like Darnold seems to have. Or he could be another Rosen/Haskins. Like I said, I haven't watched so I don't know. I think it was Skinsfaninok that was super high on him here.
