The guy is a horrible sportswriter, hands down one of the worst ... maybe I've been spoiled by the likes of Boswell, Povitch, Kornheiser, Wilbon, etc., but come on, all that endless crap about his daughter and I think I think, isn't that cute now here's a few rumors ... he's his own biggest fan. I understand the guy has to make a living and my hat's off to him for landing a sweet gig but his articles suck and you don't have to be a maligned Redskins fan to see that.

I'd also like to say a word of support for Matty and to a lesser degree, the other moderators. Personally I'm grateful that this site exists ... I think it's well-run, professional, very informative. Most of the people who post here know what they're talking about, and they are able to disagree, even argue angrily, without openly disrespecting each other or resorting to name-calling. I hope it stays that way. I'm pretty sure this is the best site of its kind.

I for one think King deserves a little credit for having the sack to retract the statement. That is more than most reporters would do. How many times do NFL reporters tell us something that turns out to be completely untrue and it is never mentioned again. I am not a huge King fan, mostly for the way he has blackballed Monk in the HOF voting. However, I think he deserves a little slack on this one.

Yeah I'll give him some credit for admitting to his mistake. I'm still not a big fan of King, but I can at least respect him for admitting when he's wrong.

And to think some losers like us sniffed out the truth right from the get go...

LOL, what do we know anyway??

You're right Celts, he does deserve credit. King might not be the best columnist/reporter out there but he does know how to make a proper apology...perhaps others could learn from him
