Wow, what an utterly useless thread -- games that we lost we could have won which would result in a better record. Ground breaking.

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

Fact is we have not lost on Nov. 7 in over 10 years but the Skins hatin' schedule makers chose to give us a bye this year on Nov. 7...so logically we should 11-0. Sign, seal and deliver that fact!

Nov. 7, 2004 (Skins 17, Lions 10); Nov. 7, 1999 (Bills 34, Skins 17)

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

I'm new to this site and I've been on the other (extremeskins) Redskins site. Unlike over their, I hope the posters over here realize "AFC games are important."
6 playoff slots and we have to compete with TB, NY, Philly, Green Bay ,Chicago, Atlanta, NO, and whoever wins the NFC West. For us to even entertain playoff hopes two of these teams have to fall hard. The Gmen and Pack are injury plagued and if it keeps up maybe they will fall, but they seem to keep winning, and with GB in stunning fashion. TB is young and a chance they could fall, but they are hungry and their youth is a strength. Chicago has a bipolar offense, but a rock solid D. Other than beating on each other, the NFC South contingent is solid all around on both sides of the ball. I think we are going in the right direction, but no playoffs til 2011 at the earliest.

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

We only have 2 teams to compete for the playoffs, Eagles and Giants. The wildcard just isn't going to happen.

With what we've been going through, i would be more than happy with just a winning record. Especially since we would have accomplished this much without mortgaging our future.

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

the way i see it, we were just as close to 3-7 as we were to 7-3. hell... we havent won a game by more than 6 this year and minus the MNF philly game all of our losses could have been wins. the great teams would've won a couple more of those games and the poor teams would've lost a couple more of those games... we're somewhere in the middle, hence our record. our record and position in the standings fits our play thus far.

im bracing for a hard landing this year... and would be satisfied with an 8-8 record. not what i want and i wouldnt be happy, but satisfied. we have had arguably the toughest schedule this year after all... looking at our last 6 games (vikes, giants, bucs, 'girls, jags, and giants again) i dont see any gimme's. can all be lost as easily as they can be won...
