I disagree with Rosenthal. I think this is the right move.

I'm sure someone will give us a draft pick for him as discussed in the other thread.

In the end, the team just needs to move on from him, and honestly so do a lot of fans.

YOU know.....if we could strip off 150 pounds or so off of Big.....get him in gear for say a 4.2 forty (just DON'T ask him to run the F....n shuttle), we could get AL's first rounder for next year?

I thought that this had been reported before.

Regardless, I would say that the Redskins will find a market for him. It is to their benefit to have stories like this out there, so teams won't wait out for him to get cut. But at the same time, the Redskins need to be flexible on the price. Honestly, his best destination will likely be Denver, since they are in desperate need of a 4-3 DT. If Philadelphia offers the best price, then I say deal him.

But...but...but I've written it here before.

Seriously though, for all intents and purposes even in writing it's still speculation, though credible speculation

Honestly, I say keep him. Forever. Unless you get a big trade offer for him.

What's he going to do, decide to waste his entire career in a beef over position preference? I think even he'll grow up when he realizes he's not helping his case for the next big payday, or when he realizes he's not being recognized as the impact player he knows he can be.

Me too. Fck Phatso. Last thing I wanna see is him getting another big pay day.

Not only do I want a draft pick for AH, I want a HIGH draft pick.

Yep. It's Psychology of Haynesworth 101. The more time goes by, the more this seems like the obviously correct play.

You have a player who can change the fortunes of your entire defense on a team friendly contract. There's no reason to give that away, whether or not it succeeds or fails. We may never get another snap out of Haynesworth again, and it's still the right play.

It'll just be national media that'll jump down Mike's throat if they don't move him. And it won't be a distraction that would get asked about endlessly. So you have to weigh the potential headache of Haynesworth the team distraction versus not letting the ****head get his way.

I mean everything he's done in the past year has been, in essense, to get traded or cut. Why give him what he wants, especially when he's been a ginormous douchenozzle? Part of me just wants him gone, the other part of me just wants him to rot and let his trade value shrivel up for another year.
