Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1

Both Teams remaining schedule

NYG = EAGLES , WSH , VIKINGS , COLTS , EAGLES
WAS = NYG , SF , BROWNS , DALLAS

It's most likely going to come down to who wins in WSH for the playoffs.

SF will win the west even with Purdy IMO because their DEF is legit.

Week 18 The Cowboys will most likely be locked into a WC spot so they will prob sit their starters

It was nice seeing Dotson involved again yesterday. He is going to be an absolute stud. We will have one of the better groups going into next year with McLaurin, Dotson, and Samuel.

Wentz's passes don't scare me, but every time he drops back he terrifies me in the pocket.

QB1 next year is either Howell or not on the roster yet.
No shit, Sherlock.

Giants should have the same record as us after Sunday, so yeah, definitely need to win that next game against them for the tiebreaker if we finish w/ same record.

Seahawks get the Panthers at home this week, which is likely a W. But their next 3 are the 9ers, Chiefs, Jets. Hopefully they lose 2 out of 3 of those.

If this was JJ , Lamb , ETC that's a PI all day. Terry gets no love
It's a close call , I don't like all the ticky tack stuff and believe in letting em play. But the ref threw the flag. If you threw it then how can you pick it up? Someone talked him out of it. Didn't like that at all.

In general PI has become a joke. It cheapens the game when you can just throw the ball up and it's basically 50-50 whether they call a flag. That's video game shit. It shouldn't be a spot foul. It should be 15 yards like in college.

As far as the playoffs go, win your games and don't depend on anyone else. You should earn your way in, not depend on anyone or anything else.

This team is just so flawed. It is what it is.

FWIW, I agree with you 100% on this. Make it a 15 yard penalty. Throwing up a 40-yard prayer and getting a first down on an opponent's 1 yard-line on a cheap call is ridiculous. Especially late in a game. It also makes me a bit suspicious of the NFL's cozy relationship with gambling houses.

Also, why are some of you so hung up on our weaknesses? That's practically the theme of this entire thread.

Let's see if I can guess one of those problem areas after reading about them approximately ten thousand times on this site:

TH is not a true starting QB in the NFL. He has a weak arm. Is that right? I agree. So what? There is no better option for us right now. We can worry about the starting QB position going forward in the offseason.

Fortunately, Taylor is also one of the better backup QB's in the NFL. He is super smart, has above average athletic ability, is positively relentless and gutsy, gets better at managing the game each week, inspires his teammates, and maximizes all of his skills and character traits in game after game. That is all we have a right to ask from him.

As for our other weaknesses, or challenges, the coaches and FO are doing the best they can to keep us competitive. I'm satisfied about where we are right now and I'll be thrilled if we make the playoffs.

Don’t think anyone is really bothered by the tie. It is going to come down, most likely, to us and them for the last spot depending on what Seattle does.
Yes saying TH isn’t a starter is overkill, but every time I hear some talking head mention his W-L record I feel the need to mention his noodle arm lol.

My main gripe is with Turner. He doesn’t put noodle arm in the best spots. Taylor has speed and legs and needs to RPO and for some inexplicable reason he doesn’t- plus I don’t see Turner going anywhere so I think that is a legitimate whiney thing to talk about. I am fine with the tie though, we beat then in two weeks and we are back in the drivers seat. Jimmy G going down helps us in that SF game too.

TH doesn't seem to be comfortable with RPO, either he doesn't read it well or it's just not his game. Plus the dude is tiny, do we really need him exposing himself in the open field? I don't really get the criticism of TH or of Turner for yesterday. We killed ourselves with penalties more than anything.

3-14 on 3rd down. Not good enough versus an avg, below avg giants defense

Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1

All 3 units played at a C level imo

Giants front 7 > injured O line

Defense was frustrating at times but held just enough to ekk a tie. Held giants to 3 n outs on Giants last 4 possession to end 2nd half. Allowed 9 yards, -5, -2, 0 yards on last 4 giant drives. So JDR did adjust

Penalties were killers and perhaps the razors edge in a tie vs a win. Penalty on Thomas was BS and the flag for PI w terry shouldnt have been picked up. But I dont think they called any PI so theres solace in that.

Giants depleted secondary ... we did attack it. Terry 8 catches on 12 targets. Samuel 6/7, Dotson 5/9. Heinike 27/41
