Re: Trade Deadline Moves

That sounds promising, but what happens if he does not sign an extension or renegotiated. 13.9 is a lot of money, especially when Dak is going to cost you 25 - 30 a year.

Release him. The contract he signed in Oakland is fully guaranteed in the last year, but only if he remains in Oakland.

4 years in and 2 Pro Bowls and 2-1000 plus yard seasons.

I am of the opinion his down trend started when Crabtree left.

I am not going back to go through a pick by pick analysis of every draft after the disaster that was 2012. With that said, however, the team seems to me to be creating a solid base of young players and, when the time for 2nd contracts come around, picking and choosing their players. We let Long, Breeland, and Murphy walk, but kept Moses and extended Dunbar. We have also been proactive in keeping certain players - the aforementioned Dunbar, C. Thomas, and Reed were all extended at reasonable costs.

[A note about Anderson for the haters, in limited snaps against Dallas, he had a sack, solo tackle, and 2 QB hits. While not a world-beater, he does seem to be trending up.]

Our drafts since 2013 have landed us several quality players beyond the first three rounds (Ioaniddas, Nicholson, Roullier, Crowder).

True, in some cases, hindsight has demonstrated that better players were available at each of our selections. However, in many cases, I suspect the reverse was just as true.

Since 2013, we have drafted solidly if not spectacularly. Just an opinion, feel free to disprove me through a pick by pick analysis that isn't JUST based on hindsight.

You dismiss quality starters on this current team and pine for that one or two special players that 31 other gms passed atleast once on. Our FO has a solid foundation on this team and effectively moves around during the draft to gain more picks and players they want. Our defensive depth is particularly good, consider we let 2 quality corners go one in a trade and one to avoid the big payday he wanted and we plugged young rookie talent in with little or no dropoff.

You may not like the players but out of those two lists and excluding ones from before BA FO they are all starter quality players other then one headcase and one running back
If you want to go that route then Brandon Scherff isn't worth a 5th overall since he is a Guard. Elliot has produced big time for Dallas(Thankfully not on sunday!) and production not hype is all that matters in the end and for the record, i'm glad we have Scherff.

Smith has zero sacks so far. 1/3 of the season is done.

Sunday is the day to turn it around for Preston.
Solder has been really bad. He "should" dominate that bum.

I'm hopefully because we need him but i'm tired of waiting for players to develop and talking about talent when they don't produce.

He was a beast against Dallas, if you’re only looking at stats you’re not seeing the whole picture

Re: Trade Deadline Moves

I wanted Cooper but I'm glad Dallas beat us to it and didnt let our front office be stupid enough to give up a 1.
I wish the Cowboys would have inquired about Doctson

Comparing the first 2 full seasons of each player.....Zeke and AD.
Numbers are pretty close. Peterson played 30 games in his first 2 years. Zeke 25 games due to suspension.

In 30 games AD has 3100 yds. Zeke has 2614 in 25 games.
Total TDs over 2 years. AD = 23 Zeke = 25 (in 5 fewer games)

Saying Elliot was not worthy of the #4 pick, is like saying AD was not worthy of his #7.

So Jalen Ramsey was sitting there for Dallas at #4, do you think he is more worthy of that #4?

Scherff is a perennial All Pro, who will be a staple on the Skins for 10+years barring a bad turn. Elliot missed how many games last year, and as a RB will likely not be on the Cowboys by year 8. (Maybe not even 2nd contract given they got rid of DeMarco Murray when his came due)
