It wasn't until they changed the rules to promote more passing and give the offense more advantage and reason to throw the ball more, it has changed the game in a bad way. Plus it is a contradiction when you can catch a ball on the edge of the sideline, as the receiver then steps put of bounds and only have two feet down and it is a catch. But in the field of play Jessie James gets his left foot and right knee down with possession of the ball and he is ruled incomplete. You cannot have it both ways. the ball has to survive the ground rule has to go. |

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
Really enjoyed the SB. Very happy for my eagle friends. Even my wife who doesn't care or watch football other than the super bowl commented on how she thought the announcers were biased. Also during the Bud Light commercial I heard the term "Dilly dilly" I have heard it before but don't know the reference. wtf is it?

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
Ertz clearly caught the ball. He clearly made a "football move" so I don't know why Collingsworth was whining about it. I also don't know why the zebra sat there and had to review the play for 5 min. That entire sequence was so annoying.

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
It was a GG but not a top 5 game IMO, only reason I say that is because there was literally no defense at all, guys running wide open all night and gaping holes to run through. It looked like a college game

Re: Super Bowl LII Thread
The ball moved a bit on Clement's TD but I feel like they got it right that's how it should be called. He still maintained control. Problem is we've seen too many plays like that get overturned. Stop with this idea every catch needs to be pristine.
With Ertz he was 110% a runner when he dove. I don't know what the confusion was all about. |
