Definitely in that "above-average" category.

You know what hurts worse than losing this game? Knowing we lost him for a 3rd round pick. That is an all-time fail for the Snyder era.

Re: Vikings Post-game Thread

Great game by defense - they have stepped up a big time in the last 3 games. I'm curious to see how big difference Young will make once he starts playing. I'm really liking St. Juste, he has been picked on by QBs but he held his ground most of time.

The offense didn't do their part, Turner and the Oline had no answer for Smith who has been one man wrecking ball yesterday. Although I believe the offense would have been worst if Wentz played, so while Heinicke is limited, he is better than Wentz.

Re: Vikings Post-game Thread

Offensive numbers

3/10 on 3rd Down conversion ... went 2/12 last week vs Colts
0/1 on 4th down .. historically bad on 4th down? we have to be in the mix.
149 pass yards w 49 coming off the throw into triple coverage

28 pass attempts
30 rushes (3 or so were drop backs that turned into scrambles)

Run game was odd ... 30 rushes for 137 yards which is good/decent but Robinson was 13/44 and Gibson 11/36

Re: Vikings Post-game Thread

Our offense is tough to watch. We don't have a good QB and we don't have a good OC. Makes it very tough to score.

Re: Vikings Post-game Thread

That game was ugly, if it wasn't for a Lucky prayer and the ref literally stopped the INT from happening we wouldn't have even scored 17.

TH makes AWFUL and I mean AWFUL decisions. He plays the game like "Favre did" but he has zero Arm talent like Favre and he isn't accurate like Brett was. They need to stop comparing the 2 on TV every fucking week.

Honestly I'll be glad when 11 is back, at least he can stretch the field.

^^ snap count from yesterday

Heinkke vs Wentz .. end of the season i think we end up with the same record, just gets there a bit different

Wentz .. we knew quick decision making, taking what the D gives isnt his strength but I was hoping hed be okay at that along w the long ball. Wentz just doesnt process and make decisions quick enough.

Heinike - hes heinike. back yard football. throw the NFL playbook out the window and call quick hitters making everyone a scat back.

I think we need to fully embrace the heinike back yard football. No 7 step drops.

Re: Vikings Post-game Thread

I think unless they manage to surprise everyone and come away with a victory against Philly on Monday night, we can expect that Wentz will be under center after that.

Heinicke will have done his job as a backup - kept the team in games, managed to come away with two victories in four games...but the team will have won 2/4 because of the defense and a couple miracles.

We need Irsay around until Snyder sells the team.

Re: Vikings Post-game Thread

not enough talk about how bad Scott Turner is.
No point in having a comparison on anything with him calling plays.

Turner doesn't know how to game plan.
A good OC would script plays to see what the defense is going to do in certain looks then attack from there. Unfortunately, it takes Turner 5 drives to get to the first 20 plays and the half is over.

It's so bad -- during a recent game I was watching with my wife, and I accurately predicted probably 80% of the plays just before the ball was snapped. And I don't know shit about football. So if I can figure it out, opposing defenses and D coordinators must be able to sniff things out far easier and earlier. Turner doesn't seem to adjust either -- he is missing the "ain't" in the aphorism, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Re: Vikings Post-game Thread

I dont know ... I like scott turner more than I dont like him. We didnt like oconnell, jay gruden, kyle shanahan either.

I think being the OC of this team with the QBs weve had ... youre always handicapped. You are always compromising your playcalls and then when you do make a good call but the QB doesnt see and throw it .. we blame the playcall bc we cant tell from the TV feed whats happening down field.

I dont think half the OCs in the league could do what he did last year with Heinike.

Youre in nascar race but they give you the pinto.

"experts" who dissect the 22 give him credit as a play designer and caller.
