Wow -- that's a lot of folks responsible for their running game all out at once. Cannot count on this of course as it's only Wednesday, and I cannot bring myself to root for guys to be hurt and out of the lineup in any event.

Yeah Quads is very rare to run in the NFL. Turner looks like an actual OC with the guys we have

Gibson is a bad ass WR out of the backfield. He looked like a legit NFL receiver catching that deep corner down the sideline.

Jamin Davis was put in coverage 6 times

He gave up 4 Rec for 62 yards and 2 first downs..

He is a liability in coverage

Any of those that included covering Kirk one one one, I'm disregarding. That's putting him in a position to fail.

Re: Pre game Thread - Commanders at Lions Sun 1 pm

Run D .. we gave up 123 yards on 18 carries (6.8 avg)

Was it LBs not hitting holes/getting washed out?
D line getting pushed back on initial push?

From what i could tell in highlights .. our LBs just got blanketed and never got off the initial blocks.

Jags rookie LB Devin Lloyd had 11 tackles, LB Oloukun had 10 ... Holcomb played every snap and had 5.

------------

Bostic needs to be in there for run D but we need to make sure he doesnt play on 3rd and more than 5/avoid any match up against a TE or back.

I didn't understand why every got so down on the guy after a fumble in a pre season game. He is everything you want in a back in today's NFL.

Should be a fun game to watch. It'll be close and there will probably be a lot of points. Scott needs to stay aggressive.

It's still scary as hell when he goes between the tackles. But I'm all for getting him the ball in space as much as possible. But the fumbling will be a concern until he proves it isn't.

I was listening to Ron the other day and he was saying how great an athlete he is so he should be fine in coverage. That doesn't make you a coverage guy and the results speak for themselves.

I'd just put Davis in there on 3rd down or passing downs and blitz him or ask him to spy on mobile QB's. He should be able to do those things and stop asking him to do things he's not good at. To me that is on Ron and Del Rio. If he can't cover a back then there is no way he can cover a NFL slot wr.

I don't know that anyone was down on him due to the preseason fumble - only. The dude led all RBs with fumbles last year. He got six carries in the preseason, and one of those ended up being a turnover. It's definitely a problem.

He's a fantastic athlete though, seems to be a great receiver, and can contribute in many ways. He just doesn't need to be running between the tackles too often. I hold my breath every time he gets the hand off. Can't wait until B Rob is back.
