I'm not being all Kool-Aid drinking up in here, I know Alex Smith probably will never be able to carry the team on his back. He's not that type of QB, nor do we have the talent or coaching he had up in KC. But he should be able to do enough to help us win or prevent us from losing.

In the past seasons, we had a gaudy offense with lots of passing yards that could not carry the team and a terrible defense, which resulted in not a lot of wins. Now we have an elite defense that can carry a team, a good running game, and a very average passing offense, that is getting us wins and has kept us in first place in our division. I'll take the latter.

Can we beat the Rams or any of the other likely teams who will be in the playoffs? Nope. But having a winning season with this formula goes a long way in building up this team.

We gave Cousins $40 million dollars and two seasons to get us wins, and people were patient. I'm sure people can be a bit patient with Alex, WHILE WE'RE WINNING, to get his act together.

I'm not blind to the mistakes this team has, but I'm not going to fucking mope like we're 2-5 and enjoy this small victory.
Is it asking too much to have an elite offense and defense? It's always gotta be one or the other with us.

If you go by scoring offenses and defense, only the Rams seem to have both right now:

Scoring Offenses:
KC, Rams, Pats, Saints, Texans, Charges, Falcons, Indy, Bengals, and Jets.

Scoring Defenses:
Ravens, Seahawks, Redskins, Cowpukes, Titans, Rams, Carolina, Bears, Philly, and Packers.

I thought it was referring to the whole Odell not liking water (something he said in an interview).

Re: Giants Postgame

We notice when Alex doesn’t put up passing numbers but we underrate just how valuable it is to take care of the ball. Alex is a good complementary piece to the way we’re built : we run the ball and we stop the run.

Has there ever been another formula that has won in DC?

Take care of the ball first and let your defense win. Nothing wrong with this at all.

Re: Giants Postgame

I wish Alex would cut it loose more. But then if he cut it to the other team, I'd get pissed.

Alex is a leader and winner. We didn't win because of him. But we did freaking win baby. He didn't make us lose.

This defense is just nasty right now and that is just flat out fun to watch. Swearinger is a damn baller right now and the front 7 is offended by any runnning yards allowed. The colder it gets the more you can win with straight amazing defense. I'll take a powerhouse D over a flashy O all damn day.

Re: Giants Postgame

Was scared about this game...don't care how ugly it was...wins are wins. Am loving our defensive linemen. We will need to shore up the passing game if we want to take that next step. Our play action game should be lights out.

I'd be happy with a middle of the road offense.

Give me 20+ on offesne right now and I'll take it. This D is great.

Not gonna lie, wanted Derwin (biased, i love FSU), but for this team, Payne was the absolute right choice.

Derwin is making plays for the Chargers, but yeah Payne is a beast. I haven't heard much from Minka Fitzpatrick or Vita Vea.
