This was under the belief that the floor of any such trade would be three first round picks.

That is no longer a realistic possibility. No team is going to trade up to #2 for Tua at this point. Miami might not even be comfortable taking him at 5. We might get offers to trade up to 2 by a team that wants Chase Young, as he's just about the more sure-fire thing in this draft, but teams won't give up enough for a non-QB to make it worth our while to pass on him.

Due to corona virus, our path has become crystal clear. We're going to take the best player - the safest player - in the draft and select Young. End of Story.
We are in agreement that if the best offers, if any, we get don't meet a certain threshold ( for you it's 5, 18, and 26; for me it's 5,18, and 39) then we hold what we've got and draft Chase Young. Whether or not a team is willing to pay the price has always been the question. That hasn't changed.

I hope no one does. Make the draft as simple as possible.

Getting the best player in the draft works 60% of the time every time!

No matter what we do the media will always laugh at us what have we done for the last 20 years we are an easy target. I'm OK with what the media says JMO most of them don't know sh%t anyways and change sides faster than a hooker turning tricks. Take CY unless they give you so many picks you feel embarrassed.

90% of the game is half-mental.

Its all about the medical. What team is going to trade UP for a player who just had a major hip surgery? Teams are not going to want to give up multiple picks to acquire a player who recently had that kind of injury unless their own doctors can examine the player first.

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?

I really want Chase Young.

Adding him to Allen, Payne, Sweat, Ioannidis, and Kerrigan gets me hard.

But .... having said that ...

... if someone wants to give us two 1st rounders this year, plus a 2nd rounder this year, AND a pick in next year's draft (1st or 2nd)? Well ... you have to think about it.

I just don't see anybody even thinking about doing that kind of thing. There's noone in the entire draft being talked about being worthy of all those picks ... except for maybe Chase Young, who is consistently labeled as the best player in the entire draft.

One of our OL Graders who was a Bengals coach for 23 years insists they are considering taking Herbert in the draft, apparently they loved his workout and chats with him. That would be CRAZY

If the Bengals took Herbert at #1 we are definitely trading #2 IMO some team will embarrass us with picks.

They (the Bengals) would probably trade down to get more picks and then take Herbert. If so, we would lose one potential trading partner (whoever moved up to take Burrow or Tua).

I just have a bad feeling that if we do trade out of #2 .... The loser ass Giants will get young and he will murder us twice a year

I thought he was projected as somewhere in the bottom of the top ten? If they want Herbert wouldn't they trade down?

JLC today on CBS: "I continue to hear that (the #Redskins) are increasingly open to trading out... If they do trade back a few spots, I believe strongly they would target Isaiah Simmons, and that's another player who I'm told is super-high on their board."

I'm starting to feel that way too.

After reading this article on Hogs Haven --

https://www.hogshaven.com/2020/3/30/...ve-obfuscation

--about the newer approaches defenses are going to, in an attempt to mentally pressure QB's into bad decisions, which relies on a very versatile group of defenders with the ability to do different things well ... it just screams out Isaiah Simmons to me.

RR's answer about the most versatile guy on the roster right now is kinda brutal.

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?

If we trade down, hopefully Simmons or Okeduh is the choice, then a WR or OT.
