Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?

For all that want a monster, RG3-type trade, the die has been cast. Cincinnati will take Burrow and we will take Chase Young. Any trades will be fairly smaller than a huge deal some anticipate. All trades will start with Detroit, not us. Rivera, Del Rio AND Dan Snyder want Chase Young. With a couple FA pickups at CB, FS and LB the big holes in the defense will disappear. Also, with an all-star DL, and the defensive minds of Del Rio and RR, the defense will very quickly excel from the shitte show it was last year. It will be really fun to see how well Chase Young does in his rookie year and how much his presence will improve Sweat, Ionnidas, Allen and Payne.

I know some wanted a huge trade deal but it’s just not going to happen this year for us. Chase Young will be ours and let’s hope he is the enormous talent that everyone thinks he is. Everyone will be watching Chase Young this year, but they’ll be missing as the rest of the DL excels from the other side.

I'll bet you a wooden nickel! lol.

If Chase Young has a terrible Combine then maybe the Redskins might rethink it all - but he's going to have an outstanding Combine which shows what a freak of nature he truly is.

Draft Chase Young and call it a day. There is no reason to complicate this. Get the best player in the draft to add to a defense that's already very talented.

Chase isn’t going to perform at the Combine. Interviews but no physical testing. I guess from his perspective he can only go down or worse yet, get hurt.

That is pretty unusual for non injured non qb players, right?

Nah, seems pretty standard for top 5 picks these days. They have nothing to gain from working out at the combine, but they have plenty to lose. He's gonna work out at Ohio State's pro day anyways.

Didn't Bosa work out?

In fact the top 4 non-qbs all worked out at the combine last year.

Just odd I thought

I hope all the experts are correct on this can’t miss .. player of decade.. will make everyone around him way better .. would not even think about trading him type of guy .. sounds to good to be true it probably is . Yes I’m a skeptic and I would trade the pick for the right price ..

The team is also meeting with Tua, now that could be a due diligence kind of thing but I'm also not so sure Rivera is sold on Haskins.. As for Young, if we got offered Miami's picks, that is hard to pass up.

Could have Jeff Okudah along with 2 more players

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?

We should be meeting with any of the potential top picks, meeting with Tua is just smart business

To be honest, if you said Tua or Dwayne right now? I'd probably say Tua , kid is just deadly accurate but I'm not saying Dwayne won't be good.

Meeting with Tua is smart. Has to make Miami take notice. I tell you what, I really like Young, but if Miami offers their three 1st rounders for our pick, I wouldn't mind that at all. One mock CBS did last week had us trading #2 to Miami for #5,#18, and #39 (2nd round). Had us taking Isaiah Simmons at 5 and Henry Ruggs III at 18. Didn't mock the 2nd round, but plenty of solid picks would be available at #39. I'd be tempted by an offer like that, but, man, all three of Miami's first rounders would be real tough to pass up, IMO. I trust RR, so I'm glad he is making the decision on this. If he feels Young is just too good to trade, great. If he feels better getting a king's ransom for the pick, that's great, too. I feel like I'll be happy with whatever he decides.

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?

Could it also be to drum up interest so that MAYBE teams think we MIGHT take a QB, thus the Lions maybe swap picks, we get CY anyway, and get their second?
