I'm not sure we will win an away game this year, expect maybe in Oakland. Sadly I expect an L.

Jason Campbell is undefeated, undefeated, in the regular season against the Panthers in his career. That's zero losses people.

Just putting the facts out there

Redskins finally break the 20 point mark, thanks to a Devin Thomas kick off return to start the second half. Skins 21, Panthers 10

I'll go out on a limb and say (hope?) that the offense finds some confidence and builds off of the 3rd quarter against the Bucs. I think the D may have turned the corner last week and is on their way to playing up to it's potential. It won't be pretty but: Skins 20 Panthers 13.

Main thing is we don't let stupid Jake heave up prayers to Smith that he typically comes down with.

If we rattle Jake early, I say it's Skins 21, Panthers 20.

Is this the first time he will ever face the Panthers?

Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup

I started a thread prior to the season where I stated that the Redskins needed to start 4-2 to have a shot at the playoffs. Now, it looks like Jim Zorn is going to need to win one of the next two games to even keep his job. Unfortunately for Zorn, I don't think that the Panthers game will be a Redskins victory.

In Carolina, the Skins will be facing a desperate team that has had two weeks to prepare for this particular game which may just be the most critical game of their season. Although they are 0-3, I don't believe that the Panthers belong in the same category as the Rams, Lions, Bucs, and Chiefs. They are better than those teams and I think that they'll prove it on Sunday.

I fear that the Panthers will break out in this game and beat the Skins by two touchdowns. I'll guess a final score of 27-13 in favor of the Panthers. Sorry guys, but I have to go with my head over my heart on this one.

Panthers - 27
Skins - 13

It sucks having no confidence in your team...but right now they don't warrant any.

I expect MOS until I see something that indicates I should feel otherwise, I'll recognize it when I see it.

Man. 27 points our our D? The Giants didn't come close to that (granted, it was week 1, but still they're a lot better than the Panthers on offense). I think it will be a frustratingly low scoring game (sound familiar?) but we'll squeek it out 17-13. To me, it's all about how our O-line performs. If they can give Campbell some time and carve a few more holes for our RBs, we have a decent shot to win. If not, our D will play well but we may come up short.

Yet you have more confidence in a team that has been a bigger train wreck than us so far?

Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup

Carolina has two things going for them; one they're coming off a Bye, two they're at home. Other than that, coming into this game they're in worse shape than we are.

Delhomme isn't mobile and will make mistakes. Their run game hasn't picked up any steam (20th in Yds/Gm), their passing game isn't anything to be worried about (23rd in Yds/Gm). As long as Blache continues with a similar gameplan as last week (and he can be more aggressive cause Jake can't run) I don't believe Carolina will be able to score more than 13 points....unless our O puts them in position to score.

Carolina's D isn't as bad as their stats indicate. They are 29th in Points/Gm, but the 38 Philly dropped on them was more a turnover issue than a D issue. That being said there is no excuse for being last in the NFL in Rush D (Yds/Gm) at 182. This IMO will be the difference in the game.

The Skins will look to establish the run again and will have success. The D will be able to hold the Panthers O in check, specials will be a wash, and we win ugly.

Skins 16
Panthers 10.
