Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?

There is a reason Burrow was #1 and Haskins #15 right? True franchise QBs are top 5 picks. We all new Haskins was a project. He had one year of college experience and went to a shitty high school program (not that you should draft a player based on high school in the nfl). Got to let the guy learn. This is when it is a shame Alex Smith can't go.

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?

There’s an old saying when it comes to young guys in racing, it’s easier to slow them down than to get them to go faster. Risk takers can be trained when not to take a risk but it’s hard to train someone to be a risk taker. Too many natural instincts to fight. Haskins can be a good QB but he’s likely never going to be an elite QB. He needs experience, something he should have gotten before he got to the NFL. Being risk adverse and inexperienced will be tough to overcome. What he needs is for the team to build around him and be willing to lose for 2-3 years while he gets the experience but the team might not, and shouldn’t be, willing to do that.

Snyder should have just listened to the scouts. No one in the building wanted Haskins in the first round. Snyder wanted to trade up to get him a la RG3. Just a total disaster Snyder is and has been. He is directly responsible for this organizations failure at QB.

Majority of people prefer to step in gum over dog shit but both scenarios are unfavorable.

I know Dan Orlovsky's opinion doesn't hold a ton of weight but he's firmly in Haskins' camp here:

That would certainly explain why they can't see open receivers.

What is going on with Alex Smith? Is it just a matter of getting into football shape?

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?

^ Terry is doing it with by far the weakest QB of the bunch and he’s the only legit option at WR.. he’s ridiculous

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?

"I think the head coach is already out on Haskins to be honest with you," JP Flaim said Tuesday. "When you start using that language, like I said earlier, when couples get separated, more often than not they get divorced. The language that he's throwing out there for Haskins, he's not Rivera's guy."

I've been saying this all along. He didn't draft him so his patience or leach will be short. Just like w/ RG3, Dan's ego will be bruised.
