I'm really enjoying what Warren Sapp is saying here. Hope this message resonates with our d-line loud and clear.

Speaking of Sapp, for a team under investigation for sexual misconduct, was it really a great idea to bring in a guy that was let go from NFL Network on sexual harassment allegations? I don't know, seems that maybe someone should have thought that through a little better.

I have seen a few people voicing their concerns about bringing him in. I suppose the concerns are warranted given this team's track record, but I think it's ok. It's not like he's on the payroll. Call him a guest coach. He's there to teach football, not mentor young men on relationships or their off-the-field behavior.

Probably not, but tbh I forgot about Sapp and his scandals. Only so much room in the brain for all these celebrity scandals.

I still think you can be a lousy POS person and provide valuable mentorship to current NFL players though. Still hope our line was soaking up that knowledge.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will read prepared remarks today before the House Oversight and Reform Committee, which is probing the Washington Commanders' workplace culture. Goodell then will answer questions during what is expected to be a contentious session.

EDIT: copied this post in the "Snyder to stay as an owner" thread, thought we might try to separate discussions.

Snyder is getting subpeona'ed

I know we're all in "believe it when I see it" mode, which is fair. But it's also fair to say we are closer to the owners switching from "don't want to be next so not gonna oust him" to "jeez need to oust him now or who knows who's next" than we're ever been. How close is the question.

The new allegations directly accusing Snyder in the private plane incident may also have an impact.
("According to the documents, the allegations include the team owner “asking her for sex, groping her and attempting to remove her clothes.”")

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1

I was a big fan of Ereck Flowers, so letting him go was a questionnable move, which made more sense with the signing of Andrew Norwell for nearly half cheaper.
But Norwell's performance will determine to what extent it was a smart move.

So I went through the Jags week 10 game against the Colts, focusing on Norwell.
Sidenote, Wentz had a decent game, but he was under pressure pretty much every play. I do think better protection will help him tremendously.

Overall I'd say Andrew Norwell plays very well, he's way less athletic than Flowers, but you can see he's a veteran, he seems to play very relaxed, chilled, I think he has excellent vision, handles stunts perfectly, moves well in space on screens and pulls. He has very good hand technique and makes up for lack of speed with good position.
He has a tendency to get a little too straight up when he's not in danger and I included a play where that got him beaten. He also got beaten once with a clean swim move. But those were pretty much his only bad plays of the game.
I think Flowers has a better upside, but we got a solid veteran, no doubt.

https://sports.yahoo.com/anthony-bar...125902576.html

The former four-time Pro Bowler still very much intends on playing football, and he’s also generating interest from a couple of teams. Per Wolfson, those teams are the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders.

While the Commanders have “kicked the tires” on a potential move to sign Barr, the Cowboys have seemed like the most interested team overall.

Dotson/McLaurin combo highlight. You're welcome.

There are throws here that our recent past QBs simply couldn't or wouldn't make. Sorry, have to click on it to watch on YouTube.
