Pre Draft Thread 2.0

Time for a fresh start..

1 Month away from the Draft!

What are some of your thoughts on players to target at 19?

Now that this offense is all but assembled, I think you can go BPA at 19 or even trade down..

My top 3 guys right now are :

Z. Collins - LB / Tulsa
C. Derrisaw - LT / VT
T . Moehrig - S / TCU

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0

I definitely don't believe in trading up or down from the #19 pick. Unless we get a stupid offer (who does that lower in the 1st?) then there's unlikely any real need. The teams immediately above us have similar needs so why trade down, and who do we want so bad that this becomes sensible? The teams below us don't really have the same needs, so they're unlikely to want to trade up. Unless one of the best QB's is still within range and the trade is feasible, who would we move up for anyway?

For me we take the most impactful LT, LB or S still available, and in that priority order. But I actually think the top 2/3 LT's will be gone by 19, so I'm leaning towards the mocks suggesting we take Koramoah. An athletic, rangy, savvy LB could work wonders in defending the run. And I've said it before, we need a DL/LB/S trio to make this defence truly memorable, a la Suggs, Lewis & Reed @ Ravens.

So if we go best LB at #19 and can pick up a FS diamond later on, then it would only leave our OL as a potential weakness, and who knows what we can find in the lower rounds, or even via post draft FA (when guys like Fisher might still be available AND cheaper).

Filed to ESPN: Dolphins trading No. 3 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 12 pick, a 2021 third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, per sources.

Blockbuster deal with massive ramifications for years to come.

San Fran getting a QB...gotta think it’s Trey Lance so he wouldn’t fall to Carolina

I think it ends up being Fields or Wilson, whichever one the Jets dont take

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Yup. Crazy how I keep forgetting Fields is a big QB prospect. I personally like Wilson as the 2nd best prospect at QB

@AdamSchefter
Eagles traded their sixth to the Dolphins for No. 12 and their 2022 first-round pick. Teams also swapped mid-round picks -- Eagles' pick 156 for No. 123.

Translation: Iggles want extra picks to get a QB in 2022.

Damn!

Really this is the way to go if your in a rebuild, nice move by eagles. Also they could have another 1 if Wentz starts and finishes in Indy

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0

Dolphins gonna be really nasty if Tua can be average or above.

Niners going QB for sure, guarantees 1 more position player option available to us. I approve this trade.

@AndrewBrandt
In sum, the Eagles may have three first-round picks next year as ammunition to replace the QB who replaced the QB who's counting $34 million on their Cap this year.

It's way too early to write off Hurts at this point.

It is, but history shows new coaches want their own guys. Also, despite the benching fiasco, Doug Pederson was the coach that wanted Hurts over Wentz. The Iggles fired him, and hired a new coach that has no allegiances to Hurts.

I guess best case scenario for them is that Hurts works out, but they don't have a great team, and their unwillingness to add an elite talent like Jamarr Chase at #6 makes me think that they are fine sucking it up this year and going for a top QB in 2022.

SF could also take Lance at #3.

I'm not as high on an OSU QB as others..

Moved from 2021 #3 to 2021 #6
Picked up 2021 #102 (SF 3rd Round)
Moved back from 2021 #123 (MIA 4th Round) to 2021 #156 (PHI 5th Round)
Picked up 2023 1st from SF

Who would I pick at #6 if I were them?

Devonta Smith, WR Alabama.

He, Devante Parker and Will Fuller together would be insane and if Tua can't win with that WR group, he's the biggest bust of all time.
