Around the NFL: week 4

Power rankings are not really very useful, but sometimes the jabs say alot about our team, and division:

6. Atlanta Falcons (3-0) | Last Week’s Rank: 7

They have unofficially clinched the NFC East by beating the Eagles, Giants and Cowboys. Now they’ll work on the NFC South.

Makes you wonder if the Falcons are good, or NFC East Bad...

For the comment about Luck:
17. Indianapolis Colts (1-2) | Last Week’s Rank: 18

It took all of one win to put the Colts in a four-way tie for first place in the AFC South. But clearly all is not well yet, not with the reports of unrest between Coach Chuck Pagano and GM Ryan Grigson, the lineup reshuffling along the offensive line and the seven interceptions thrown by QB Andrew Luck. Even Kirk Cousins probably thinks that is a lot.

More specifically KC is thinking if I had 7 int's, the media would calling for my head

23. Houston Texans (1-2) | Last Week’s Rank: 30

Aren’t the Texans overdue for a starting-QB switch?

think we can ask - RG3 anyone??

24. Washington Redskins (1-2) | Last Week’s Rank: 23

Remember that talk last week about the Redskins being able to be in the mix in the right-now-dreadful NFC East? It’s a possibility that’s not even worth considering until the QB play gets better. There are some decent parts in place elsewhere. The defense has done its part and the offensive line and running game can be productive. But until Kirk Cousins stops throwing interceptions or the Redskins go from Plan B to Plan C at QB, there’s little hope of contending even in a bad division.

The defense that allowed multiple 6+ minute drives. Hard to say they are looking at the actual film.

I thought it's been known for a while he was the highest paid. It's closer to 7 million though.

No wonder he hasn't coached in a while. That's a lot of damn money. He's really good on TV. He's re-invented himself and I enjoy listening to him for the most part.

He's a competitor. The $ and low impact nature of TV will make it hard, but I would bet anything he's got days where he really seriously considers it. He'd command a lot of $ to coach too, and he'd have his pick of places to do it. There will always be a slew of openings at the end of the year.

Re: Around the NFL: week 4

Has anyone been suspended for a dirty hit yet?

Strange. You dont see the "contact to the Qb's head" or "leading w helmet" call nearly as much. I know a "contact to head' call was made last week but thats the only one i know of.

Perhaps the players have adjusted to the rule changes protecting QBs? 2 years ago, you couldnt watch a game without multiple ticky tacky calls with Qbs pleading for calls every play. games were almost unwatchable bc penalties altered outcomes and flow of the game.

Re: Around the NFL: week 4

cooley's workout in NY was due diligence, they weren't looking to sign someone. if someone goes down this year and they need a body, he's probably on the short list to fill in.
