I like Payne because he can get bigger, he hasn't maxed out his frame yet.

I’d rather have Jones from USC...but Michel is good.

I think neither there at our pick in the second.

Re: Looking at the draft.

Payne or Vea in the 1st and either Jones, Michel, or Penny in the 2nd. If there isn't a trade down this should be the most likely plausible scenario inside Redskins Park too.

Re: Looking at the draft.

We need an elite guard or a menace to go along w/ Allen. I would never ever draft RB's in the 1st 2 rounds. I would treat backs just like the Patriots do. Never pay them big money cause they're interchangeable for the most part. Payne would be good but I would pass on Michel in the 2nd.

Hmmm...interesting breakdown of Isaiah Oliver, a CB I haven't heard a lot of hype about. Would be an interesting pick if he falls somewhere we can get him line the 4th maybe?

If we had s 3rd rounder, I'd say RB or LG in the 2nd and the other position in the 3rd. But I think its easier to find a starting guard than starting back 4th round or later. I want a stud RB. I miss Portis.

This is kind of my thinking too. I'm generally very much a proponent of don't need to draft a RB early, but it's clearly a big need and we keep whiffing on mid round backs. Maybe it's reactionary, but there are just so many really talented guys in the early rounds this year that it would feel disappointing to Get a guy with a limited ceiling in the 4th. The ideal scenario is a trade back that allows us to get both in the 2nd-3rd but barring that I trend to agree with you.

Ultimately though it's going to come down to how the board plays out on draft day. If there's an early run on RBs we may miss out on the top tier guys in the 2nd and it would make sense to wait until the 4th if you have a big cluster of guys around the same talent on the board, and the same thing goes for Guard. Just gotta hope that both positions don't have an early run.

That elite guard is Nelson and no chance he falls to 13.

Re: Looking at the draft.

Yeah need to find a RB. Have not had a franchise RB albeit briefly that of Alfred Morris.

Clinton Portis was drafted in the second round. Not exactly top half of the first round. Not exactly franchise player consideration before or during 2002 draft.
We need a killer guard before a top RB. Fix the lines first.

If we drafted Wynn, Hernandez, Price in 2nd round I won't be mad. My preference this year is a stud running back tho. I think either one can be the right answer.

More than one way to skin a cat.

Sure seems like if a top tier DT was sitting there, we'd pick them over a guard, even if he falls. But I know ppl are saying Nelson is Oline gold...

I think we should go BPA in the second round between Guard and RB, Im hoping 1 player out of the 8-9 who grade in that vicinity are still there.

At 13, we should be going only defense unless the FO thinks Guice is that dude.

The dream scenario is Nelson drops to us in the first round...that's your killer guard in the draft.

You have a better chance of becoming Queen of England than Nelson does of falling to #13. I think either Wynn or Hernandez might be there at #13 and either of them could start for us immediately, IMHO.

of course they would start because we have effing zero at LG and Guard depth. So yeah would they start or would they be a "killer?" Why not have an opportunity to have a killer NT/DT with Payne whose ceiling is higher? Maybe a Derwin James who play making ability would be game changing?

I hope we wouldn't Eric Flowers the pick just because of need.
