Another thing about Philly I really liked, easiest big city to navigate and drive in. Maybe its the layout, but found it easier to get around vs most big cities.

I used to hate Philly, not I can tolerate it. Not my favorite but not terrible either

I loathe DC. Yeah I grew up here but I've never taken to it. Maybe loathe is too strong a word

I like Chicago a lot, but the weather can be a bitch

NYC is far and away my favorite US city

NY has it all. Definitely my favorite too with New Orleans #2.

Re: Farewell to Lisa Hillary

I went to NYC for a few days and I thought it was okay. A little too fast paced for me and stupidly crowded. The streets are like cramming into a subway car at 8am.

Great place to visit, would hate to live there.

Re: Farewell to Lisa Hillary

I liked Raleigh, NC a lot.

I love Frederick, MD but I guess I'm biased because I went to college and grad school there.

San Diego, San Jose and Hollister, CA are pretty neat as well.

I'd say mine is NYC I absolutely love that place, I'd live there if I could. I grew up an hour away from NO and went there a bunch to visit family. It's a Cool city but the crime is just ridiculous.

NOLA is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

My neighbors just moved here from DC about a year ago and they said the same thing basically. Said it's just not a fun place to b?

Re: Farewell to Lisa Hillary

I've always had a good time when visiting DC, but I know living there may be a different story. The brutal traffic alone would ruin it for me.

DC traffic is really not bad. Downtown, during the morning or evening rush, definitely. But early morning, mid-afternoon and at night time, it's really easy. After about a month or two, you definitely get used to it and drivers in DC aren't nearly as blood thirsty as they are in NYC. I was scared to death of getting hit by cars running lights and turning on no turn signs/signals.

The highway traffic on I-95 and I-495 is different. I still hate the highway traffic. You can be sitting in that mess for hours, especially if there's an accident.

Living in DC is pretty awesome and it definitely depends on the section you live in. We're definitely like a mini "city that doesn't sleep". There's always something to do, there's a great nightlife, museums, free zoo, two amusement parks just an hour or two from the city. There are incredible places to eat (if you're willing to search for them or ask around. JUMBO SLICE!!). People who that think DC is boring either aren't hanging out with the right types of people or just wants all their amusement right at their fingertips.

There's a lot to do here if you're willing to just look around.

Dallas traffic is probably the worst I've ever been in, it's ridiculous. I never drove in NY

I felt the same until I got transferred there. I found it to be a remarkably easy city to live in (granted I know long term there may have been challenges without more disposable income)

I think I might like DC a bit better if it weren't for its unbelievably inefficient public transportation system.
